People think they will cut the price 100 dollars by next christmas? At the pace its selling why would they just throw away 100 dollars?

Whether we even see a price cut will depend on how aggressive microsoft continues to be and whether reflects in Q1/Q2/Q3 sales. Otherwise next gen exclusive software is going to do crazy things to hardware sales next year without aid of a pricecut. 8/10 games are gonna require everyone moves to the new systems and sales will rocket. At a minimum I see a 349 price point in fall 2015 for PS4. Possibly 299 coming from microsoft.

Really depends on how the XB1 sells. Sony probably wont cut the price by $50 until the XB1 steadily outsells the PS4, let alone $100. Late 2016/early 2017 is my guess.

They'd throw away $100 for much more psn+ sub's and more market dominance. Which both come with significant longer term benefits.

Announced at e3 2015, wheter it will be needed or just bonus.

I can see a slim digital only ps4 in 2015, though there will be better, more expensive SKUs

 
Only possible, if mobile chips already went to 14/16nm finfet, while Nvidia and AMD graphic cards won't go to 20nm
Right now there is no capacity for 20nm console socs and the process is still to expensive.

I don't see shinks to 20nm before 2016. And a new slim model doens't make sense without a die shrink.

Consoles came out end of 2013. 2 years after the first 28nm graphic cards from AMD (Nvidia was later)
So no, we won't see a slim version this early

Do people really expect the price to drop by £100 ($170) next year? You've got to be kidding. £50 at most. And that won't occur until 2016.
