Forums - Gaming - What the hell is wrong with Vgc Ps4 software tracking? (extremely overtracked in RoW)

Fifa is incredibly popular in ROW nothing wrong there, in my county having a console and NOT having a FIFA game kind of makes you a weirdo... (and im one of those very few weirdos.)

Fifa is believable. The rest seems very unlikely.

LOL at how desperate prinz_Vallium is toi nit piock any negative against ps4. Out of all the numbers we have this is what you pick?? Should I call him Prinz_downplayer?

seems like some1 really likes me, if they create alts just to post in my topic.

You could change the googles and maybe question if RoW HW isn't undertracked then the reason for excessively high attach ratio. And I wouldn't put behind the possibility of Fifa attach ratio in Brazil being 70% and close to that on some other South América countries and even some Asian ones.

Seems to be Undertracked.

Sony shipped this year: 284m games across PS4 + PS3 + Vita + PSP.

VGC shows this year: 121m games sold across PS4 + PS4 + Vita + PSP.

A hell of undertracked.

Er, they dont quote that.

They only quote revenue... and for FY 2013 it was 384bn yen ($324m) and this includes digital downloads PLUS retail.

284m units in one year would be billions of dollars. lol

$324m revenue from as much as 150m games shipped doesn't make much sense. You sure about that?

I think so.

As per the key quoted: Hardware is in units, software (sales) in billions of yen revenue.

Oh I figured out the problem. You just got the dollar amount incorrect. It's actually ~$3.2B

that doenst change the fact, that VGC is wrong tracking.
if vgc would put 1m more hardware units to Row, that would affect the software sales for RoW figure and increase it.

yes, Brazil could be 70% attachrate (not fist week only, but maybe first month)
but as i said, RoW also includes canada and australia  where fifa has probaly a 5-10% attacharte at most, just like the us

u also have to take into account, that sony does not make 60$ revenue for third party physical games. theyre not the publisher.
only first party games and digital are at full value for the earing release.

3.2/60 would be ~50m games
3.2/40 would be ~80m games
3.2/30 would be ~105m games
3.2/25 would be  ~130m games

Yep but Sony does not make $60 from first party games either. Retailers buy them for less. If I had to guess I'd say Sony get perhaps around $20 per game sold on average => ~160m games sold

depends how they account.
look at the big difference between revenues on gaap base and non gaap base for the big publishers. it they would not count like that, no game would ever gross 1 billion on fist week.

20 bucks seems low, becaus the royalty alone is between 7 and 15 bucks.
ill do some research
