Forums - Gaming - what's wrong with playing a game on casual/easy mode?

I would say there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing that.

Play the game how you like to play it my gripes with different difficulties is some games do it in a cheap way it's like they aimed the game to a set hardness then add settings that either make you overpowered or the enemies weak or do the exact opposite .
The most annoying aspect of finding the correct difficulty setting , is when your game gets difficulty spikes all over the place .

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Playing on hard usually requires the player to plan things ahead, to consider different ways to approach the challenges. planning itself is a part of the pleasure in addition to the sense of achievement. It is something that must be experienced in order to be understood.

With that being said, there is nothing "wrong" with playing on easy mode, but it just wouldn't be the same experience.

Nothing. I always play my first playthrough on normal, and if I enjoy the game enough I will replay it at the highest difficulty level.

Nothing wrong with it, I personally don't like playing games on the easiest option. Besides playing easy won't make you any better at the game, so at least start on the default normal.

Too easy.. at least put it on normal lol.

Exactly.. At least the " normal" difficulty mode offers some kind of challenge!

I believe that the normal/standard difficulty is the exact level of challenge that the developers intended to make the game to the best of their abilities.

So playing on anything easier feels like I am not going to enjoy it as much as the devs intended.

Eg; In Armoured Core 4 Answer the difficulty actually changes the story quite a bit.

The only problem I see with it is then you can't get the trophy/achievement for beating the game on a higher difficulty. To each their own on difficulty settings I say.

Nothing wrong with it. Not everyone play games for the challenge.

there is nothing wrong with it. but to me i like a challenge. i dont like a game to be frustratingly hard. but i dont want to just scroll through it.
