Well who knows, maybe it's gonna be a GT6 situation with LBP3 :D

It's going to get more hate than LBP and LBP2 without any legitimate reasons. We already knew that was going to happen, based on current trends in game reviewing.

or it just might not be a good game or lack luster.

either way though I'll be picking it up in the morning along with dragon age.

I'm a tester for the game and love it already. lol

I hope you enjoy it similarly!

Actually I thought the 86 was too low. Or else I'd have said Mario Kart 8 as well.

Well when it comes to the GOTY discussion you might be right, but I don't think the nominees always wind up being the top-rated games according to Metacritic. For instance, even at 83 I expect Transistor to get a little more attention than you might expect based on such a score.

Also, pretty sure IGN and Dtoid (and probably a lot of other sites) usually have ten nominees for GOTY, not to mention all of the other awards. So they're going to have to dig a bit deeper than Metacritic's top 5.

Well 79 is good, hope it gets to 80.

User reviews will be higher I would imagine

It's LittleBigPlanet, it will be good, plus an 8 is a good score, the reviewers don't tend to give high scores nowadays. And I like it this way, cause I know that an 80 metascore game is a game that actually deserves an 8.
It didn't used to be this way, LBP karting for instance scored around 79-80 if I remember correctly and surely as hell didn't deserve an 80.So It peforms really well considering the fact that it had no hype.

Oh dear........... sorry, but it was always punching above its weight to begin with IMO....... so not surprised.

Too bad. Hope it is a funny game for those who try it. Couldn't bother to finish the first and don't care about creating levels.

I'm pretty sure IGN uses their own scoring when determing GOTY. So a game like DK: Tropical Freeze technically could be considered in their GOTY nominees because they gave it a 9.0, even though its meta is 83.

I knew this wasn't going to get 90+.LBP 2 scored lower than first because it wasn't that much inovative. It was obvious that this game would score even lower(specially because it has a new dev).

Besides Reviewers are scoring games lower than before for some reason(seriously what the real did they expected for this gen? some kind of 4D telepathic gameplay?)

And that's why I said Metacritic isn't really the best indicator. There are only a couple of awards shows not tied to a specific outlet, and Keighley's is a complete wild card this year. Nominees are supposed to be announced this week, so we'll see where that's headed. My guess is that it won't align with Metascores though.
