Isn't this the number most of us think the PS4 has sold so far? I know it is me ... but is he talking about shipped?

Layden: We’re working on everything. But we’re really happy with, in the PlayStation 4 era, the high percentage of network attachment we’re getting against the units. Some crazy number, like 95 percent of PlayStation 4s, has attached to the network. We could only dream of that with PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3. Keeping that high attachment rate is something we’re pushing on. PlayStation Plus takeup has been very high with the advent of PlayStation 4. We want to continue to work on that to show value and benefit to our members who’ve joined that club, if you will.

Certainly the continued rollout of the platform—13.5 million is a pretty good achievement for us. As anyone else would say, the first 13.5 million is the easy 13.5 million. We need to continue to push that installed base. We’re in a strong position now. Black Friday is just around the corner. In my neighborhood we heard “Jingle Bells” in the department stores in September, but Black Friday is the real kickoff.

Seems a bit coincidental to me.

Yeah they keep quoting that figure but I think that is the last up-to-date offical numbers from the end of September.

yeah I have to assume he's just mentioning that last financial statement's shipped numbers since that's too much of a coincidence.

Perfectly feasible to think its at or close to 13.5 mil now. But yeah he's quoting shipped

By the time bkack Friday hits, it should be around 15-16 million shipped if not more ww.

He's just quoting the official shipped numbers. But f as of end of september they had shipped 13.5M its pretty safe to say that by now they have sold well over that amount. Think of it, VGC has the PS4 at 13M now and we all know the PS4 is grossly undertracked here. I honestly won't be surprised if the PS4 is pushing 14M now and we get an announcement during the playstation december event that they have sold 15M.

PS4 probably sold less than 10mil. this is all a conspiracy.

He is either quoting the offical shipped number form the earnings report, or they're at 13.5m sold throuh right now.
Sony has shipped 10.2m Ps4 end of June 2014 and sold through 10m as of 10th August. So a little bit over 1 1/2 month to sell through the shipment number.

We're at the second week of November right now. 1 month and 2 weeks after end of Septmeber 13.5m shipment

IMO he's referring to the shipped figure of the last official financial report. Nothing more. Tiugh it wouldn't suprise me if sell through as of today is 13.5 million or thereabouts.
