Yeah, I think there's really not much technical justification for a review embargo on LBP3. So I'm thinking Sony's not confident in the game's likely reception with reviewers and they're hoping that consumers will like it and support it despite reviews.

I am assuming a review embargo of course. But what other explanation is there for no reviews on metacritic for either version of the game just a day out from launch?

Everyone that have heard about LBP3 will know exactly what it is anyway...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Sony embargo all their games until the release date?

Something like LBP I'd say that the embargo is probably just to encourage the reviewer to play the game in a deeper fashion that just to whizz through the premade levels and review it based on those.

Looking forward to playing it though, never played an LBP before (although I'm going to have to wait til next year to grab it; Smash, DA:I and maybe GTAV are all I can afford the rest of the year)

It's because the game only runs at 20fps and the online is not working properly. 5/10, would boykott.

A day before release in the US, rest of the world has to wait another week. But it's very online orientated, might have an embargo to deal with the fact servers were not on.

I don't expect this game to get 90+ like the other(i wish it does though)

I mean,LBP2 scored lower than the first one 'cause it was "too much of the same" and i don't expect this one to be innovative.

The launch embargo is irritating, but i doubt there's anything to worry about with LBP3. Like LBP2, it's essentially the original (1+2 in this case) + a mass of new content and ideas. It should get criticized for being too similar to the previous titles, but likewise praised for building upon what we already know works (somewhat contradictory, but you get what i mean).

It's hard to predict scores right now, given the new scale reviewers seem to be working with, but as long as it's not an unstable buggy mess, 80+ should be a given.

This... it's just LBP with more stuff. You know what you're going to get anyway. Maybe the ps3 version has a horrendous frame rate or maybe the story levels aren't designed aswell as the previous entries in the series but that's about it. I can't imagine this game being vastly different from the other two.
