does it pass the smell test?

not to overuse amazon but the destiny bundle sat in the 4-7th position for months and climbed to 28th position on the yearly chart.  tons of launch events and a mad rush of gamers.

price drop week xbox certainly did well but most of the bundles dropped out the top 20 in a day and not a one made it into the yearly charts.   the top bundle was the AC bundle which wouldn't be in this weeks numbers either as AC launch on the 11th.

i'm just not so sure i believe that xbox did 25% better last week than the ps4 destiny launch.

They started selling the AC bundle the 2nd. Itcame with a download code of Unity that could not be used before the games release.

As I already wrote: It only took a holiday season, price cut and a brand new blockbuster game bundled for free to beat PS4 in early September, at full price, and a brand new blockbuster game at an additional cost.

Not something to really celebrate.

Who gives a shit how they do it. They could give them away fro a dollar as long as they have more consoles sold than the competitor.

double post

The appropriate comparison would be to compare it to a similar priced XB1 bundle for $349.
What we are basically doing is comparing it to a consol that was $50 more expensive during a period of no bundles for $50 more expensive console compared to a console that just got a price reduction with at least 4 bundles all at the reduced price.
Pretty much, when have we ever seen a $349 PS4 Destiny bundle?????

I know that I smell something, but not sure if it passes a test.

It is near the end of the end....

Well, it includes countless bundles, CoD launch (with exclusive advertising) and a price drop, right?

That's a pretty hardcore battalion of incentives. Nevertheless, it is a good sign.

Well, most of the bundles went out of stock within a day.

One thing to think about as far as the yearly chart goes, it would take a lot more sales to equal the same position on the chart as the PS4 destiny did at the time.  Destiny had only 8 months of things sold to be compared to and the XB1 bundles (with limited supplies) had 10 months of sales to go against.  Also, the AC bundles is #8 month to date and the COD bundle is #14 MTD.

As far as the XB1 doing 25% better, not sure til we see some real #'s.

We do. The sales are impressive but all the facts need to be put on the table. Bundles, timing,   etc.

It's still a huge bump but the XB1 pulled out all the stops to make it happen.
