Wii U is not doing so great.

Not for long.

Yeah but Wii U will back to these numbers after a few months. Smash bros. won't sell systems forever.

Steady stream of games... Japan gets kirby in january. The smash bros boost just has to last that long.

Actully not:P wii u after mk8 release hasn t go back to 20k(for the same time frame)...or 2k in Japan ,it is doubled:P lets say wii u will never fell below 10k in japan in dry months, after smash bros :OOOOOOO:P

Well I like your optimism but that isn't likely. In 2015, other than Zelda U, Wii U doesn't have that many big games.

After Kirby then what? Splatoon and Yoshi's Wolly world. Those games aren't big system sellers.

Do you even know what impact splatoon will have? Its a new IP you can't claim its not a system seller. a steady stream of games = higher baseline!

Do not misunderstand him,he is a little bit pessimist or cautious and that s not bad:P do we know anything about mario party 10?japanese are obssesed with party games ;)

I really hope that the MK8 bundle can do...something, because Wii U isn't doing very well.

Why are some expecting the Mario Kart 8 bundle to boost Wii U significantly next week? After all, Wii U sold like 19k on MK8 release week lol what makes you think this bundle will boost the console MORE, especially after the game has sold 700k in Japan already?

Now don't get me wrong... I expect the bundle to sell VERY well throughout the holiday season, but I think its boost will be more modest early on... I expect around 20k for Wii U next week, mainly because Captain Toad is also releasing (even though I'm not really expecting it to do much).

Anyway, the Japanese charts have lacked excitement for a few weeks now, I'm looking forward to the next few weeks though! Next week in particular will be fierce with Call of Duty, Winning Eleven and Captain Toad releasing.

There was a somewhat steady stream of games since June. We had Mario Kart, then Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2. Mario Kart really helped but the other two games didn't really boost sales.

2015 just has more platformers and Wii U already has enough of those.

I'm not sure how Splatoon will impact sales but are Japanese gamers into shooters with a multiplayer focus?

PS4 up three weeks in a row. COD up this week, Assassin's Creed and Dynasty warriors the week after, then 3 weeks after that is DQ and GTAV...seems that the Dreamcast is being threatened.

Vita Y/Y not looking to good for this week with last years 2000 model but a pink one and some titles come out in the coming weeks to keep its Y/Y gains in tact.

Wonder what the excuse for the 3DS this week is going to be? Down Y/Y with every major title under the sun released for it as well as four sku's along with a special SSB 3DS XL. Let me guess... supply constrained.

3DS is failing against the DS, so no surprise to see it down Y/Y. In fact, I expect after the holiday boos to be doing laughable numbers as the other hardware, but not as terrible as the non existant XOne.
