You ever backed a Kickstarter?

Yes 32 55.17%

No 26 44.83%

Total:58

So anyone here ever back a kickstarter?

If you have, what did you back, why and how was your experience?

I backed one for a Wing Commander orchestral recording. I have loved Wing Commander ever since I played Heart of the Tiger. I must have played that game and finished it 20+ times and loved it everyone! I can even remember a lot of the dialogue off by heart :P

Anyway, im totally happy I back the kickstarter to re-record the music with a full Orchestra, the recordings have now been done and just had a taste of what was done and it was AWESOME! look forward to getting the release when ready (should be in December, January at the latest). I have been happy with my backing, as aside from what I will get soon (I backed it 9 months ago) the man behind it (George Oldzie) has kept us upto date with proceedings ever other week or so, he has seemed so enthusiastic and grateful for our backing each time, and I cant WAIT to see (hear!) the final result of 9 months of anticipation! :D :D :D

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

Veronica Mars. Doubt I'd back anything else though as that is the only TV/movie from the past I genuinely felt was over too soon.

I did for two games that aren't finished yet.
A hat in time and Midora are the only ones yet though.

If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

I backed LA Game Space...I never really played much from the game pack I got (although I plan to eventually), but I like what it was all about. ^.^

And this wonderful video came out because of it (PS: Pendelton Ward is the guy who made Adventure Time):

Broken Age - Still waiting on part 2.... Frustrated. Especially as they've been putting the game on sales while backers are still waiting for half the game

Massive Chalice - Nearly finished, I'm pretty happy with the updates that there have been, even though I haven't been paying tooooo much attention to them. The game should be out shortly

I've also backed Star Citizen, though after it's kickstarter ended, so that probably doesn't count. That's the one I'm the most excited about and I watch the weekly videos and read all the updates. The game isn't really stable enough to invest a massive amount of time in yet, but fun so far

Don't know if anyone remembers, but there was this campaign for a short film based on the Metroid series
called "Metroid: Enemies Within."

I backed that campaign, only to get my money back a few weeks later due to Nintendo taking down the project :(

Yeah, Town of Salem

I need to stop with Kickstarter. By the time the games release I have lost interest or have forgotten about them. Not worse than the impulse sales buys waiting in my Steam library to be played, not great either.

Plus Kickstarter keeps spamming my mailbox with all these pointless updates. Yet I don't want to simply delete them since it might have news or download codes of the finished version.
