If it's $300 Nintendo will do better than I thought this holiday but that would be ridiculous lol

It will probably be $329.99 just like the MK8 bundle with the Wiimote + Wii Wheel. They're not going to be giving away Smash at a discount, not until it's been out on the market for a while.

If true, all dem sales!!! Well, at least until they run out just like they did with MK8 bundle T_T

The $30 is likely the profit margin Nintendo wants for the game. 

The controller + adaptor costs them peanuts to make (same with a Wiimote + Wii Wheel in the MK8 package a few months ago). 

Nintendo doesn't just "give away" new games for free. They will bundle them, but only after they've sold through their first/second wave of shipments and recouped development costs -- ie: Mario 3D World is only now the standard pack-in game.

I am betting they do a limited one this winter with a heavy hitting promo a la MK8's first bundle but then follow it up in Spring or Summer next year with a more permanent cheaper one like the MK8 bundle they have out now.

Omg huge news!!! That's it Nintendo. Market the he'll out of this game and kick some major ass this Christmas!! Wow Nintendo is on a roll lately. New 3ds, Zelda majora mask remake, now this. Loving my Wii u a lot more lately with all the good moves Nintendo has been making.

This would be a very smart move, and would push some decent hardware numbers over the holidays.

They won't do it.

Smash is a powerful enough brand to move consoles on its own (better to bundle it with the controllers/adapters, that has a huge profit margin for them), same way that MCC will move consoles without an immediate bundle. Its better in the long run to not bundle this title at this time of year. If it had released in June they would have bundled it but with the holidays and black friday sales, they have a better investment in bundling other titles and moving that software while letting Smash push hardware on its own without a bundle.

Now would be a time to see a push in MK8 bundles (which work great with Smash anyway) and 3DWorld bundles. If sales really have been as high as VGC reports for Bayo2 in the west, I'd also introduce a Bayo1&2/W101 Bundle with a platinum colored WiiU after the holidays run their course.

...I want to go home but this stupid motor keeps over-drawing current. Grr.
