Forums - Nintendo - Will Sonic Boom be a hit for the Wii U?

The cartoon will do better than the show. They put more effort into the Wii U version than the 3DS version and it still sucks! I played the 3DS version last night and I was as confused as hell. It was... BORING. Sonic needs to do something, I don't know what yet. Generations was the best game they've put up in the last couple years. They need to focus on Sonic's core elements and characters or else, the blue blur will die.

why they cant understand this i dont know

If it gets an OK score at least I'll buy it but otherwise no way

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

"Sonic Boom has had it’s forecast revised downwards to 300,000 from the original 600,000 for the Wii U version with the expected full year sales for the 3DS version taking a massive hit too down from 2,270,000 to 1,380,000."

from SEGA financial report.

300k sounds about right, I estimate about the same.

Not sure, it is in my MAYBE list of purchases, but I don't see real hype for the game, I think the TV show will make it or break it.

Sonic Boom will do much better than Lost World imo because it's coming later in the Wii U life with a larger install base and the game itself is centered around a gameplay machanic that typically does well on Nintendo devices (it's kind of similar to Adventures 1/2). I personally have TRIED to play Lost world and I find the controls so unbearably annoying that they kill the fun in it. If Boom has good controls, I will probably buy it :)

its really nothing like the Adventure games. BUt im with you on Lost World

I saw the first chapter of the TV show and is not bad, if the game picks up some of the audience it could get decent sales.
