2011 - New Zelda remake and new game.
2013 - New Zelda remake and new game.
2015 - New Zelda remake and new game.

GOD I'M FUCKING HYPED RIGHT NOW

i've noticed this pattern as well and i think i have mentioned it on this site a couple times.

I don't get people complaining about this not being on Wii U....
OoT was on 3DS... sequel should be as well...
Wii U already has a Zelda Wii U remake and a 2015 title in the works.

E3 '15 will be fackin' awesome. I'm expecting 2015 to be the year of the games compared to 2014; a year of remakes and sh*t ports.

But when they show that Zelda U gameplay... O_O It could change the industry.

That's what I believe the new Zelda is capable of doing. I think it'll change the industry in the same way that OoT did only at a Waaaaaay lesser degree and that's still promising. I hate liner Zelda games now, especially after TP, and this game makes me so happy inside.

I agree. Next year will be fantastic for Zelda fans. Think of all the Club Nintendo merch they might release! Also, hopefully Nintendo will get with the program and release the special edition SKUs globally, at least for Zelda U...

Wait wait wait did i miss something???

Because they don't make games like sports games that become completely irrelavent after the first year. There's a story to be told and stories, no matter how old, are stories that can be remembered and impactful. Now, I do agree that a new IP would be great but Nintendo has plenty on their hands right now. People act like AAA companies are supposed to be inhuman and produce new games every day. Give the teams some time. They have lives too.

Codename S.T.E.A.M, Xenoblade X and Splatoon were shownin htis direct, and while I dd see some excitement for these games the majority of people are going crazy over MM3D. I know that MM is beloved game, but  I do believe that Nintnedos new IPs should get similar attention. Maybe the lack of excitement is because  S.T.E.A.M, X and Splatoon are not exciting in their current form or maybe it's because a majority of Nintendo fans don't really care about new Ip's.  I don't know, but I do wish these games would get more attention.

I think, just me, that these games don't have a viral appeal. Don't get me wrong, Xenoblade is awesome, Splatoon has potential, and S.T.E.A.M. I... don't know what to say about that. Lincoln looks sweet but as I was saying, these games don't have the same effect as say a "Mario" or a "Zelda" because that's what the gaming community is familiar with. Do I agree with that? Not necessarily, but if a new IP comes out it has to build hype without the developer showing much of it. Destiny for example, game didn't do it for me and I sent it back, but when it was announced the gamers jumped on without a second thought. That's what a new IP should do. Splatoon is definetly different for Nintendo and I respect different. But do you even want to think about how popular of a new IP it would be if they had originally gone with Mario characters? It's all about being familiar and if you aren't familiar, you'd better make familiar look lame. That's how I view a new IP and how it is supposed to perform even before it hits the shelves.

I don't know why everyone jizzes over this stuff (remakes in general). I own MM and can play it right now, this instant lol.

It's sad more people are more excited for a 15 year old game than new IPs.

Because they don't make games like sports games that become completely irrelavent after the first year. There's a story to be told and stories, no matter how old, are stories that can be remembered and impactful. You missed the point. MM is available RIGHT NOW on the Wii VC. This means, everyone with a Wii-U, reguardless of age, can play this masterpiece right now.

So why so much jizz? Is the story different? Is it going to be a completely different game? No? That's the point and one that holds true for any remake on any console where the original is for sale digitally. It just makes no sense imo.

No, I think you all as a whole, not u specifically, are just blinded by your own ignorance. That's not the point being made. It's not the same game. There is likely to be graphical improvements and bonus content that you can't find on the original game. Remakes allow you to enjoy a story with its available updates and that's the selling point. "What if this game looked like today" and "What if this game had better controls than it did on x console", that's what remakes are about. If they aren't your thing, don't buy them. Nothing completely makes sense to any one person, if you don't like it, don't buy it. If you don't like reading about them, don't read about them. Problemo fixed.

To me, the "same game" only refers to story progression. Do you still progress through the same exact story, dungeons, bosses, characters doing the exact same thing? Then it's the same game only prettier.

Having said that, if people want it, then fine. I'm not trying to piss on anyone's parade. I just don't GET IT. The game is there to buy and play right now. lol

Isn't it crazy though? They're going nuts over having the ability to play a game that is for sale right now and has been for 14 years! lol It's like these companies are sprinkling some kind of magic dust over their eyes or something. lol

A'ight, fair enough. They are a thing though, look at TLOU remastered and Halo Chief collection, people just want to have fun. And fun is such a interpretable word, if that's even a word. And, MM3D is portable and portable 64's aren't really the thing right now. I guess that's even a bigger selling point as people are becoming increasingly mobile.
