Forums - Sales - Japan Sales Week 44, 2014 (Oct 27 - Nov 02)

I don't understand how the Japanese trackers can be so off from one another; one has the Xbox One at over twice as much as the other! It has been this way all year in Japan.

With numbers that small, I put it down to mere statistical noise.

I remember a thread a user made (maybe theprof?) that had posts of you commenting on how low the Vita is every single week.  Why didn't you move on?

Edit: It is theprof he still has it in his sig.

Here's the link. Too good of a thread to miss out on.

It was a crime to shut down that thread.

Why to release remakes and spinoffs in 3DS if they are not going to release a mainline DQ, just like last gen on DS?

Yes. It can works on other console. Thus, forget about DQ being hinted for PS4. It could end even on Vita, nobody knows.

And ofr systems sellers, again, FFXIII was the biggest one for PS3, and NSMBU is on the way to outsell it. Then we can call systems sellers MK8 and NSMBU, therefore not all the big sellers are exclusively on PS4 as the user who I quoted mentioned.

We already know that real system sellers are on handhelds and mobiles.

Seems to me you don't quite understand how system sellers work. It's not about how much software they sell, but how much hardware they move. A game can sell greatly and still have close to no effect on a console's sales. Thus, FFXIII  being outsold by x game is completely irrelevant.

If the next Mario is released on wiiu and outsells FFXV but doesn't help wiiu reach a wider audience and only sells to existing owners, what kind of system seller would that be?

In the One's case; granted, but there are huge gaps in all the numbers almost weekly and these discrepancies have grown in this past year so I'm thinking one or more tracker(s) have to have changed their method, sample size/relevance or simply downsized and lost focus on accuracy.

I wonder if either of the trackers are going to stop tracking XB1 after this year. I know Dengeki dropped VitaTV when it was selling ~ 1k per week after its first year.

Anyway, week of the bomba huh? Onechanbara did rubbish; Borderlands did rubbish; Evil Within clearly isn't going to have any legs; nor is Tales. Bleh.

And hardware is dismal too. Considering we had reports of New3DS being out of stock for weeks and this was the first week there was supposedly a decent amount around, it's not exactly stabilizing. I'd imagine the Smash 3DS next week would have something to do with that, but still... it's certainly not patching the massive YoY decline at this rate.

Vita also looks like it's lost any chance of being up YoY too, sadly, and WiiU...

How many cats do you have?

(This is the most interesting thing in this thread.)

Beneath the holy trinity is the land of Sony

Top 30

3DS - 10

PS3 - 7

PSV - 5

PS4 - 3

PSP - 2

360 - WIU - XB1 - 1

New3DS is slowing down dangerously. Any shortages this week?

Yeah, like I've been saying; Japan is a console wasteland this generation. Only the handhelds are keeping it relevant at this point.

I wouldn't call that dangerous at all XD. Especially when looking at every other HW on the charts!

Vita TV > XBone.

Hm.

I have 0.0 cats at the moment.  Thanks for reminding me of my lack of on-hand fluff.
