What do you think Nintendo actually wanted for an M-Rated third party game of a franchise that was not super popular to begin with?


It´s just a guess, but I think that, considering all the hype around the game and the fact that WiiU owners don´t have many choices of the platform, they would aim for something around 150k and hope the game to move some consoles . But again, this is just a guess. If it reaches 1 million copies (digital+retail) lifetime I´m sure Nintendo will be glad.

So PS4 is probably at around 13M by now right? Wii U numbers are probably pretty accurate now, maybe still a little overtracked? Not sure about X1, but I guess still pretty under tracked? By how much though?

Going to go out on a limb and say that Bayo 2 is undertracked. Unless Nintendo really did not ship enough to meet demand as rumours had earlier claimed.

Unless you compare Sony to Microsoft then it is totally valid to exclude the rest of the world especially Europe XD.

Not that it matters when it over takes the Wii U. It is bound to happen eventually. Too many reasons for people not to go to X1 over Wii U. Soon the price will be another good reason.

I think the WiiU is the better second console for those who can afford it.

I totally agree with you there, but it looks like everybody is waiting for the price to drop a little bit more.

Bayonetta 2 did ok. I always thought the one million goal was ridiculous, but even my estimate of 750k lifetime seems 150k overly optimistic.

Hardware numbers seem reasonable this week, but as has already been mentioned, the adjustments seem odd.

I did not see. How much was HW under tracked?

VGC said ~140k then Nintendo said it sold 190k in the US with digital. VGC then adjusted HW up to 172k.
