The new 3ds in Japan really helped a lot (probably just above 100k without it)

Im excited if nintendo will announce the released date for it in the US on the upcoming direct (less than 7 hours left) and the xenoblade 3ds version, hoping they release at the same time.

Say we have 10 countries in ROW (I know there's more, but for the benefit of maths), which includes Russia, India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Tailand, S.Korea and Egypt. say Russia is the biggest market with 20% market share out of those countries and Indonesia is the smallest with 3%, then you add 20% of 250k ( 50k) to Russia and 7.5k to Indonesia. You then smear this number across the 12/13 weeks between the 10m announcement and the 7m announcment (BTW is the 7m announcement correct?) which gives you 20k added onto every week, nothing too radical no? This could be used to get people of off ioi's back, whilst keeping the numbers sensible, whislt waiting for further evidence as to where the numbers actually are.

dont talk about stuff u dont know anyting about. u can do it to satisfy some "still undertrackd on that date" shouters, but it would fuck up ur tracking

I assume the reason for the downward adjustments (despite us knowing both the PS4 and X1 need to be boosted up) is that ioi wants the weekly and regional data to be as accurate as possible. If he's sure one place is over tracked, but is likewise not sure where the missing sales should be, then a seemingly illogical adjustment is inevitable.

VGC sometimes ignoring (or only particularly acknowledging) NPD data somewhat contradicts that theory though. Maybe he's just high and/or fucking with us

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if VGC tracking amounted to banging your head against the number pad, for estimates, who'm I kidding, even when numbers are known it still appears to be the method of choice.
