Forums - Gaming - Will the Xbox Ones price drop slow down the Wii U's holiday season?

Think XB1 will put a lump of coal in the Wii U's stocking?

Yes 84 40.58%

No 123 59.42%

Total:207

they are competing though, was told last gen many times

if someone buys an xbox they aren't buying a nintendo or playstation that is a casual formula

Xbox one will kill the ps4 sales for th holiday season (it probably wont outsell the ps4, but a lot of people who were on the fence of one or the other just saw the deals of the xbone and jumped on it. i hate shooters, I dislike the xbox, heck I'm a nintendo fanboy and I was tempted by that sunset overdrive bundle.)

But it isn't getting any core buyers on board, it's appealing to Nintendo fans and since there are no Nintendo franchises coming to XB1 it won't steal any fans.

Are you honestly suggesting that Nintendo fans aren't "core buyers"?

Or that games like Bayonetta 2 aren't appealing to "core buyers" who aren't "Nintendo fans"?

Nintendo core /= typical core (type to be into Dragon Age, Bioshock ect).

Bayo is niche and won't shift very many WiiUs.

You need to learn the meaning of phrases like "Core consumer". And this elitist crap needs to stop - it was stupid last generation, and it's still stupid.

It's accurate, if you don't want to accept that, that's on you.

I think sales so far this gen have proved my point perfectly.

Let's try to keep things on topic and civil, please guys.

OT: Possibly, but not by a major margin. Guess we will see soon enough.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I still think a U price drop to $199/$249 bundle would be a good move.

Have no idea what Sony has planned yet. They tend to do black friday and December very strong though. Their strategy might be to hold back for most of November, build stock, and go nuts to close out the year.

It will all be interesting.

I think that most people don't think about the fact that the average consumer doesn't have the brand loyalty that we sometimes tend to. Its a good chance to step back and realize how much can be gained in lost in such a short amount of time. ;)

That's an interesting point. I just don't believe the games on X1 are there to attract sales that would have been U sales.

Makes sense. I can understand why everyone thinks about it that way, just trying to bring up an alternative.
