Some parents are stupid too and some retail staff are dumb as bricks too.

I can totally see this happening

Kid: I want Smash Brothers for my Wii U!

Parent: OK dear.

(goes to store)

Parent: I need Smash Brothers something or other.

Clerk: Yup, we have it here. There's one for $39.99 and the other one for $59.99.

Parent: Oh I'll take the cheaper one.

And voila now the kid has Smash Bros. for 3DS instead of Wii U.

lol im pretty sure the clerk wont let then choose like that.... im pretty sure they will ask what console.... i mean does that happen to for example call of duty?

parent: i need call of duty something or other.

clerk: you, we have it here. theres one with blue case, green case, clear case.....

parent: i will take blue

and voila now the kid with xbox one have a call of duty for ps4 instead of xbox one

How many walmart s and other big box store have you been to- there are many people working retail that either would not know and or would not care to guide a parent or anyone else - not saying all are like that but there is plenty of apathy at some of these store particularly the big ones

I feel like Buckley was being a bit too harsh here. I mean honestly what else would they call it besides Smash 3D and Smash U?

They have Brawl, Melee.... Could have called the new versions many things - Riot, Bash, bang boom .....whatever but they had choices

haha, yeah Nintendo needs to work on giving their games better names.

But how does anyone explain their choice to call the next iteration of the 3DS, " the New 3DS"- if you think Wii and Wii U is confusing, I guarantee there will be MANY parents and retail clerks getting confused about getting a new 3DS v getting a "New 3DS"

Thats one way to interpret it ....

I think Nintendo feels that not its fans but everyone else is a moron and thats why they streamline games (so people dont get lost in a compicated Mario hub world etc. rofl)

Alot of games from the competition are made for simple people and Nintendo wants them to be Nintendo customers (I'd rather want them to quit gaming forever no matter the platform but I seem to be part of the minority.....)

Mario Galaxy 2 Prime 3 and SkywardSword are all streamlined games (when it comes to world design etc.) they changed for the worse but are still better than 90% of the other games out there.

But it seems that Nintendo is fixing that (at least ZeldaU has no "chose a level" world anymore its again a connected world!)

so you agree that nintendo is not as bad as to naming their titles?

Does he think he's cool for swearing so much?

I wouldn't say it's a big deal, I see Nintendo just trying to get it out there that there are two versions.

Thank you! Glad someone else said this. I heard him drop the F-bomb like 5 times and I was done. Even if he had a decent point to make, it was lost with all the swearing.

He has some interesting point though. Plus ending was a harsh reality. Super mario bros 2 proves a copy and paste job.
