If people want a PS4 more, a price drop's not changing anything because why should it? Think about it yourself. Would you buy a console you don't want just to save $49.99? lol It makes no sense. |
You've got to think about the parents who go out not really knowing what their kid wants and picks up the cheapest one. It happens.

I doubt it. People have christmas lists and as kids, we all TELL our parents what console we want. If you're a parent, and little Johnny wants console X, but it's too expensive and you see console Z... you don't buy console Z because why would you want to buy something your son doesn't want and didn't ask for? And even IF they did something that stupid, the kid would ask to return it the moment stores opened lol.

Sorry, this price cut is already in released advrertising from a handful of retailers. The retailer ads are put together 6-8 weeks before they release. SO, this has nothing to do with recent (last 4-6 weeks) sales...
It is near the end of the end....
150 dollar drop in less than a year. This is why you don;t buy a console at launch XD

Sorry but the Gamecube scenario is a poor analogy - No marketing, no bundles, piss poor 3rd party support and a previous user base of only 35 million vs 80 million plus for the 360. I think you are going to be very surprised what these bundle deals will achieve in the U.S this holiday season. Remember the One is already not too far behind in the U.S with current weekly sales. It will only go up. Also the xbox brand has a far more home grown following in the U.S. Gamecube had none of these elements going for it.

So you honestly think people will buy a console they don't want just to save $49.99? I just don't see it. People buy what they want to buy. Price really isn't an issue unless it's ridiculous amount. I don't see any of us buying a console we don't want just because it's $49.99 cheaper. It's stupid for so many reasons. You wouldn't do, I wouldn't do it... I don't know anyone who would.
The only people who this will matter to are those who actually want both and don't have the money. But those are so small in number that I don't think it will have an impact.

But I would still be buying one with Kinect, so how much of a drop would it be for me?
Microsoft's going hard in the paint. Sign me up for the Sunset Overdrive bundle.
I'm glad I managed to hold off on buying it until the holidays.
