And they can't as they have to make money off the PS brand and for this they need to keep a "high" price to also make profit off the console itself. Their "desperation" is that there is no price cut.

They don't have to drop the price to give you a price cut. All sony has to do is digitally bundle Killzone, infamous, the last of us and journey with every console sold and still sell it for $400. Its kinda easy saying pay $400 and get 4 games free. And those are all first party titles too.

And I don't understand how people don't get that he bst and fastest way to make profits from consoles is by increasing market shae as quickly as possible. If sony lost $100 on every console sold, they stand to make almost 2-3 times that amount from that gamer over the course of a year.

Of course, no question in your points. Doesn't make it better for Sony: They have to squeeze out as much money out of PS4 as possible. How they do so we will have to see.

Competition is good, but I sense MS is losing too much to achieve their ends. They were losing money for each xb1 at $500. Though now is without kinect, I suspect they lose even more. I can be wrong though. It will be an intersting war to see though, that's assured!

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Your move, Nintendo. A $249 Wii U + free mario game bundle would be perfect to be competitive against the $349 XB1.

And about Sony, I don't expect them to lower their price dramatically but they really have to launch a GTAV bundle in US: ideally one black and one white. What are they waiting for? Are they really intending to make the holidays still with the Destiny bundle?

Fire sale. Making way for Xbox One.5. An Xbox 360 duct taped to an Xbone. Backwards compatibility FTW.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

Good move

So price went from 500€ to 350€ in less than a year.

Including 2 games.

Still bargains for the americans, enjoy.

without Kinect.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I wonder if this deal comes to Canada. It's $300 WiiU, $400 XB1, $450 PS4 atm.

The only thing stopping me from taking the plunge is the possibility Sunset Overdrive will come to PC. That and I am buying my friends family a Wii U for Christmas so my buying funds this holiday season are limited :(

It'll probably release on PC later, even maybe on PS4. A little history of some Microsoft exclusives:

- Titanfall released on XB1 & PC & XB360 confirmed later a 1 year timed exclusivity, it will release on PS4 next year.

- Ryse released on XB1 then released on PC recently, a PS4 port is not impossible too.

- Dead Rising 3 released on XB1, later released on PC.

- Tomb Raider next game announced exclusive on XB1, then later it was confirmed timed exclusive.

In the last 3 games, they were even telling us that the game will never release on PC pretending it was not a timed exclusive shamefully playing with words and meaning for Tomb Raider ...exactly like for Sunset Overdrive now. So basing by the previous record of Microsoft bought exclusive (not own), it's very probable the game will released on PC later, maybe even on PS4.

What are the current prices of standalone consoles in the US(no bundles, no Kinect etc)?

WOW yet another big discount! Just shows you how shell shocked MS are!

Will Sony counter? The way I see it if Sony match this promotion the number of PS4's sold this holiday will dramatically increase. I mean the sort of increase that it's probably impossible for them to meet the demand. SO it is probably a waste of time doing it as they can likely sell out their highest possible shipment without this deal. Such is the colossal demand for the PS4.
