Nintendo the only company that can make good remakes?

Yes 79 51.30%

No 75 48.70%

Total:154

Uh, no?? But they do produce good remakes. Pokemon, Super Mario 64 DS, Game + Watch galleries, Zero Mission, Star Fox on the N64, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, adding Wii controls to the first two Metroid Primes, PunchOut Wii sorta, Wind Waker HD, Ocarina of Time 3D is alright...

I think Square Enix does well with their FF remakes. The FF IV remake for the DS is my favourite Final Fantasy. The only Nintendo remake I've cared are the two Zelda remakes (and MP Trilogy, if that counts, but I wouldn't count it), but they were damn good remake.

First off, I am just gonna assume that you are mostly a nintendo gamer. And that sad fact kinda makes threads like these irrelevant cause well, you are a fan.

Having said that, theer is a difference between a port, a remaster and a remake. And even more importantly, there should be a difference in expectations when you consider the generation and/or the platforms of the existing titles.

Ports are simply just making a game to run on a different hardware. None of the original games assets will be changed. The game may only at best benefit from running at a higher resolution and a smoother/higher frame rate.

With remasters things get a little more interesting. The games original assets are mostly left untouched but its resolution, frame rate and even textures would all be updated. Very rarely would you see new models being used in remasters, but you could see a boost in texture detail (some) and other assets like lighting and sound...etc.

Remakes are usually complete overhauls of a game. Where the only thing the remake may have in common with the original are the overall games presentation, scenario, HUD (sometimes even this is shelved under "classic")...etc.

Now the problem with remakes, is why even bother? you might as well just make a new game.

Pokémon remakes aren't made by Nintendo though.

Remakes are rarely made directly by the parent company anyway. Being made by a company owned by Nintendo, it's more accurate to say that ORAS are made by them than it would be to say that Ocarina 3D (Grezzo) is.

Metroid Zero Mission is another great remake.

Um... Microsoft did pretty good with MCC.

lol... This right here, coupled with Kapi's history invalidates the rest of your argument.

Wow, gotta be honest, that looks light years beyond Pokemon. Maybe Pokemon on Fusion can look similar to that.

Even a proper RPG on WiiU like this would have been nice, the only time we got real Pokemon RPGs on console was GCN =(

And it's crap.

Kapi is one of the biggest nintendo haters on this forum.

If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

Because it's pokemon therefore Nintendo is sure of profit. And apparently MCC doesn't count, right?

LOL

No, not even close. Not only are there many companies with good remakes, but Nintendo aren't even close to the best among them.
