Ubisoft is sound like young people, how old are they?

He might be right that it wouldn't be very exciting to see all of my friends in the same mission of a linear game, but he should know that not everything in the future is video sharing and multiplayer experiences. Gamers will sometimes just want to play a good ol' linear game without having to interact with anyone else who might just ruin the experience. If Ubisoft wants to focus on games being open-world, that's perfectly fine; it's what they feel the people want. But they're gonna get a rude awakening when gamers get tired of the same open-world formula they've been using since Assassin's Creed 1.

Yeah, we need more big open worlds filled with fetch quests and a lot of unnecessary collectibles. Keep it up Ubi!

The thing with linear games is that acceptance of linearity comes at the price of having a tight narrative, good plot and decent characters, as well as good gameplay. There will always be a decent market for high quality linear games. Perhaps even a growing market as the gaming demographic ages and has less free time to put into playing a game to a satisfying completion.

Everything Ubisoft says makes me hate them more.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

if anything the marketplace seems to be screaming "more linear"

That depresses me: more games are becoming vehicles for telling a story as opposed to delivering gameplay.

Sonys bugging me with this at the moment, I get the feeling that the sucess of uncharted/last of us is pushing them further towards these games. The Order seemed like a nice concept when I first heard about it, but then they went and said they were trying to make it like Uncharted 2, a linear story driven game. If Horizon turns out to be a linear story driven game ill probably throw quite the tantrum lol.

Saying that just makes me want to take any money I would have put towards a Ubisoft game and put it towards a competing linear story-based game. c:

I love how they troll Sony fans by referring to PS4 as "The Other One" lol.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
