And some people say Sony should make a Vita smartphone

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I've said it before but really a Sony-Nintendo alliance would be highly beneficial to both companies, especially if Sony could convince Nintendo to work together on game-centric phone/tablet devices. A Sony-Nintendo line of "gamer phone/tablets" IMO would be reasonably successful.

But aside from that, why buy a Sony phone over an Apple or Samsung or LG or Motorola or Nokia/Windows? There's just too many companies making basically the same product.

Yikes. Bad news for Sony.

What is Sony good with? Gaming, Music, Movies, Audio Systems (home and vehicle), Cameras and Camcorders, and a few other things. CUT EVERYTHING ELSE AND STOP BLEEDING MONEY

Perhaps Samsung and Google want their share too?

At least their gaming and entertainment divisions are doing well... Sony should have never made that high of a forecast in the first place.

It was a mistake for Sony to attempt to make a crack in the low to mid-range smartphone market, as it has already been taken by Chinese companies like Huawei. It was also not a good idea to update their Xperia devices twice a year, though reports say that they're not doing that anymore after the Z4. Sony's smartphones are good. In fact, the Z3 is miles better than the iPhone 6 (and the plus), but the average consumer won't know that.

Sony isn't the only company that's struggling in the smartphone market. HTC's sales have been dropping (which sucks because the M8 is really good) and Samsung's profit forecast has been cut by 60%.

Love how a few men are using this thread to take shots at Sony but doing it without breaking the ToS of this site.
