Forums - Gaming - *IP's With Potential To Grow

Adventures was in no way a worse game than Assault, bar a Star Fox game at that. The gameplay got boring really fast and there was no variery there, but it at least had polish and good presentation, while Assault looked like shovelware at times (those menus (menu music included)... oh god why). Also, Assault had super-clunky controls and the ground missions were utterly terrible.

It's a funny thing. Before actually getting around to playing those games, I wondered if Star Fox was like Mario and Zelda in the sense of having a way overhyped N64 game as the best entry in the franchise just because it was the first 3D one... I couldn't be more wrong. Honestly if it wasn't for Star Fox 64, all my fondness for this IP could be completely non-existant at all.

Assault may have been rough around the edges but it was still more fun than Adventures. The multiplayer alone makes it better. Although, honestly, I never beat either game.

I agree. Without SF64, I wouldn't give a single crap about Star Fox as a series. I'd still think the characters were cool because of Smash Bros though I think.

Red Steel had the potential to grow but motion controls have all but disappeared besides Wii U.

Uncharted, if A Thief's End is as good as the rest, it will be the best selling game in the franchise.

The Last of Us. This franchise has potential to be a 10m+ seller, hopefully Sony goes all out with the movie and TLoU2 is already well into development.

A lot of smaller series, not into significant territory though imo.

And Minecraft of course it's ever-growing this game hasn't peaked yet, a potential Minecraft 2 though I don't think will be same kind of success.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I would like a dirtbike racer!

Fire Emblem has grown from a japan only to niche game in the west. Suddenly it "saves" the 3DS! Its gameplay works on all plattforms, it could expand into mobile, online/MMO gaming and even full 3D. It has a mix of art styles (pixel - cartoon - 3D) + gorgeous cutscenes that all can be emphasized on different platforms.

A dirt bike racer could be fun if done correctly.

I still want to try Fire Emblem. I always have a higher priority in gaming though. Right now, PS4 > 3DS games

I had a hard time getting into FE. Liked to look at others playing but did not really understand the game mechanics. Now it is a favourite even if it has its shortcomings.

Basically you are in charge of a small band of (guerrilla) fighters on a shoestring budget going up against the most powerful of enemies. The enemies has a lot of kamikaze fighters with excelent intelligence reports (they always knows your weakest point) but you yourself can not really loose any of your allies..

I believe the Ratchet & Clank franchise will grow much more thanks to the redux game and the movie next year. Sure, it has been an established IP for the past 12 years, but maybe the new game and the movie next year will give it the exposure it needs.

Little Big Planet has a lot of potential in my opinion. A new version with 3D gameplay and even deeper customization tools could make the franchise huge.

I think Destiny has the most potential to grow along with Watch Dogs and Titanfall ...

I did try the demo for the 3DS game & it was pretty interesting. I definitely want to try it...someday. Maybe the crossover on U if it actually happens.

I can't believe I forgot about this one. LBP could easly turn into something much bigger for Sony. Although, Media Molecules next game might have even more potential. We'll have to see

Metroid, 'nuff said.
