| mZuzek said: Adventures was in no way a worse game than Assault, bar a Star Fox game at that. The gameplay got boring really fast and there was no variery there, but it at least had polish and good presentation, while Assault looked like shovelware at times (those menus (menu music included)... oh god why). Also, Assault had super-clunky controls and the ground missions were utterly terrible. It's a funny thing. Before actually getting around to playing those games, I wondered if Star Fox was like Mario and Zelda in the sense of having a way overhyped N64 game as the best entry in the franchise just because it was the first 3D one... I couldn't be more wrong. Honestly if it wasn't for Star Fox 64, all my fondness for this IP could be completely non-existant at all. |
Assault may have been rough around the edges but it was still more fun than Adventures. The multiplayer alone makes it better. Although, honestly, I never beat either game.
I agree. Without SF64, I wouldn't give a single crap about Star Fox as a series. I'd still think the characters were cool because of Smash Bros though I think.
