The only difference between this and other violent focus video games like GTA,Ninja Gaiden, No more heroes, GoW ext,Is that the game is pretty straight in just saying its a game where you kill peoplw instead of buring it by a storyline that tries to justify it.

Im saving this thread, and I want to see how many of those against the game hold true to their convictions when MKX, GoW and others like it come out.

What Sonic said. ^^

This is pretty much how Rockstar made their name. Don't you guys remember the controversies their games caused back in days. Am not acting high and mighty either. I liked Max Payne. Over the span of one night he kills 100's of people.

"Max Payne kills literally hundreds of people in this game. The total count for the entire game is 662, but one kill is included for a dream sequence. The total number of kills in the actual game is 661. " - From IMDB trivia.

Then there is GTA...you guys can just youtube the videos yourself.

Why are World War II games okay?

Its a part of our history with stories of good vs evil, though specific countries take offense to them the world as one will not.  Again it is how it is portrayed.  It is also war, or a fair battle, not killing of the innocence and watch them scream in terror.  Just as we wouldnt make a game about killing people in the holocaust.  And when you approach a serious tragedy, you have to do it in a way that is good and respectful to those effected, again, not out of bad taste.

And if you remember there was a scene in CoD, killing civillians, and while it was a very real subject it didnt bring the same amount of emotion as "Hatred" has.  Even then it caused controvery and was removed in the game in some countries and had to have permission to played in others.  It also wasnt the entire motive of the game.

Though i think intelligence should be applied in topics like this which means taking perspective of others so before asking questions you should also ask yourself the same question and figure out why some things are accepted while others are not

The idea that these are fantasy situations so it doesn't count is mental barrier

Again its about how something is portrayed, not necessarily the action alone is the full story.  Its certainly not a mental barrier.

tl;dr
Read until this scentence: "But does the game need to exist in an industry constantly trying to get the outside world to take it seriously? Also no."

Wheter a game will or not exists is up to the developers (unless any laws are broken by the mere existence of the game, but here that doesn't seem to be the case). If it will sell, is up to the gamers. A moralist like yourself can have an opinion, but if you don't want it, just don't buy it. Btw, the game will sell probably a lot more than it would normally do just because of this kind of exposure.

Double standards.

'Murica always wins in those war games so it's cool.

Id hardly say it is double standards.  Just because you want it to be a double standard doesnt make it that way.  Im not telling you or any one else to change their mind, but you should take the perspective of others in situations like this

America isnt the only country that is in war games or in war in general.  Lets not make this about America  against the world or patriotism because it isnt the topic in the slightest.

I do not understand why anyone would think this game his "disgusting", while accepting video games that glorify the killing in the second world war.

That's not my intention, sorry. What I meant was why not consider the deaths of Germans, Japanese, Vietnamese and Iraqi's and whoever else distasteful in war games?
