tl;dr
Read until this scentence: "But does the game need to exist in an industry constantly trying to get the outside world to take it seriously? Also no."
Wheter a game will or not exists is up to the developers (unless any laws are broken by the mere existence of the game, but here that doesn't seem to be the case). If it will sell, is up to the gamers. A moralist like yourself can have an opinion, but if you don't want it, just don't buy it. Btw, the game will sell probably a lot more than it would normally do just because of this kind of exposure.
