Ellie's AI and your other companions' AI were awful though.

Even if its a 'bad' game by ND standards, it will still be above average in industry standards.
I really cant see them screwing up really badly with all the talent and resources they have.

I like platinium games, but that's a no. The wonderfail is average game at best.

A lot has changed since Sony bought Naughty Dog. They completely changed how they make games and hired new people and writers. Today compared to the time before to purchase the talented is even greater.
Gaming Journalism is nothing but a giant joke. So why would anyone care?

| artur-fernand said: Ever since Crash Bandicoot, ND has been on an unbelievable streak. Not a single one of their games since then has been considered bad. It all peaked with Uncharted 2, which took numerous GOTY awards (and U3 did the same later)... ...or that's what we thought until the release of The Last of Us, the most awarded game EVER. The praises for that game were unbelievable (and deserved, imo, but that's another story). Now here's my question: with such an amazing streak of fantastic games, the hype over anything ND does will be ridiculously huge... so have they reached a point where it's impossible to live up to the colossal expectations? Will people be disappointed at U4 (and then the next game, and then next...) because it's "not as good as their previous works"? It's even worse that reviewers seem to be really picky lately. Granted, I haven't played any of these games, but stuff like Second Son, Driveclub or The Wonderful 101 seem to deserve more than 70-80 metas. Sounds pessimistic, but the thought just crossed my mind today. What do you think? |
This is what everyone thought when TLoU was about to come out. We all thought "How in the hell could they possibly make a game as good as UC2/3?!" Well they did! So at this point I know to not doubt them anymore because it is very clear they have the best management and talent in the industry.
I don't think anyone expects UC4 to cure cancer, but we do expect it to be amazing, and it will be.

I was disappointed by TLoU though and I wasn't alone in that sentiment. The biggest problem was the AI so I don't know about expectations being exceeded. |
Yotsuba would never say those awful things.
Imposter!
