How could it be surprising if PS4 Destiny sold more nonetheless?

I don't understand you people.

we cant even 100% say that it sold more on PS4..

If that's the case, we can't say that for any current gen, downloadable game.

A. PS4 has more CONSOLES sold in the USA.

B. Destiny was promoted ONLY for PS4 consoles.

C. SEE A AND B

I don't understand how you dont see that..   I am not talking about NEW people who just bought a PS4.. The current installed base of both consoles and promotion would have made me think this was impossible..  so hence I am "suprised" ..  We also don't have digtial sales for EITHER consoles.. so really.. we cant even 100% say that it sold more on PS4..

Opening post quote:

"Yes.. with Digitial and PS4 Destiny bundles we know PS4 sold more copies of the game"

That is quite surprising actually.

Without the bundles that may well mean that more of the pre existing Xbox One installbase bought Destiny than that of the PS4.

Actually, all it means is that more PS4 owners bought the bundle. It doesn't include digital sales, either.

Yeah, but the point I was making was that those PS4 people that bought the bundle must have been new PS4 owners not the ones that already had PS4s.

That's good, because it means it sold a lot of consoles, but also interesting, since it shows the existing PS4 userbase can't have been made up from as many FPS fans as the existing Xbox One userbase.

Because you think all the sales of the games on One were only on existing userbase ? A lot bought the console for the game, look at the hardware sales, it's obvious . Still, even without the bundle, it's pretty much the same ( 800k / 875k )

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

This isn't even news. So it told more physically. Ultimately it sold less overall. All it means is that more PS4 owners opted for the downloadable version. Is there some sort of criteria that separates the 2 versions? If not then why does it matter which way it's purchased?

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

Kind of makes sense really. Xbox One wasn't boosted by that much and of course they had that free game deal that week, with the free game being digital it wouldn't have been included.

Free game wasn't digital.  Had to be a physical copy.

One was boosted by more than 100k, so of course a lot of them were new X1 owners. You cant really think X1 would have sold that much without the game.
