Damn!

That's just straight up bullshit.
When there's that much content missing day 1, they should delay it instead of putting the burden on the players harddrives/internet caps.
20GB, that's almost the size of an entire game. What the hell is on the disc? Just the main menu?

According to Halo Franchise Director Frank O'Connor, all 4 Halo campaigns as well as some of the multiplayer maps. The download is for the rest of the multiplayer maps.

Shouldn't even bother, people are still going to throw hate not knowing the full story.

That's kind of dumb. If they had that much data. Than why not put two games per, and make a two disc set. You don't run into space issues. This also means the full installation size is 70GB. It be interesting if they let you choose to install a game from the MC collection.

Isn't the point of the collection that all games are playable via one hub?
Making it possible to make playlists that span maps from different games. That wouldn't work if you had to switch discs.

But the point remains that they have could just put those 20GB on another Blu-ray, whatever the content is and make the instal mandatory.

You install the games anyway. Either disc is jsut used for Disc insert check. It wouldn't matter if it was on a second disc.

45GB is a dual layer BD disc. No one has yet used the 100GB created BD discs though.

Can the XB1 or PS4 read those discs? I mean having a 20GB day one patch for a retail game is ridiculous.

I'm assuming all BD players could have a firmware update to allow these to work. But no one has ever used them.

Luckily, MS has external hard drive support though. It seems to me both MS and SONY should have released a 1TB hard drive at the minimum because as the generation goes longer and longer, the games will take more and more

Now I feel I should have waited more before buying a 500GB PS4.   1TB versions are inevitable in a few months.

Well, for some folks, 20g is a pittance, so no biggie. They should consider an alternate method for those who can't do that in a reasonable amount of time though (or don't have online at all).

The last part was sarcasm.
Though at the same time I did genuinely wonder what was on the disc.
Point still stands though. 20GB is almost the size of an entire game. Either launch with 2 discs, or in case the content wasn't finished, delay it until it is, and then release it. If this becomes a trend just because devs don't want to launch with 2 discs, our harddives will fill up fast with unnecesary files.

the content is done if you buy the digital verison youll already have the update.  they just literally filled the disk to its max.

this is what frankie said about two disks

And remember that if it were two discs, that would completely wreck the functionality and experience of the unified interface. Trust me, two discs would have been easier in a lot of ways.

Wow. Getting 20gb of more content because the blu ray disc was maxed sure gets a lot of criticism here...

The data cap complaints are warranted but please, it wasn't rushed and this keeps costs down for 4 full games and a TV series... You can't blame them logistically....

This is 4 the gamers. Thought you guys would be happy. It's not like we're being nickel and dimed here!

Those with data caps are going to take a big hit with that one. I thought that the Evil within's 8 GB day one was bad enough

Evil Within had an 8gb patch?  On consoles?  Cant find anything on this and its not downloaded on my version yet (ps4).  Got any links?
