Get Dragon Age Inquisition.  Not only will it have a lot to do but it will also have a lot of great gameplay elements.  If you've ever played Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Dragon Age Origins, etc, you control a group of party members strategically.  You can pause the gameplay and then choose the actions for the party, then fast forward the gameplay as what you chose plays out.  You can also not bother pausing the game and play as one of the characters yourself in a Kingdom's of Amalur/ Diablo style of gameplay.

The single player is going to be large, but the game features a co op completely separate from the single player.  You have your choice of one of 12 different classes, or you can create one of each, then you and three friends can play through 20-30 minute quests, leveling your characters up to what you want that class to play like, gaining loot, then going through more and more quests.

The graphics are okay, not anything spectacular since it's also on last gen consoles, but from everything we've seen, it's shaping up to what could possibly be the best western RPG ever imo.

I'm interested in Witcher 3 also though.  The thing I like about these games, something I don't like about Elder Scrolls, is that these games actually have gameplay.  Hopefully the day comes where people stop buying into each new Elder Scrolls because of the better graphics and take notice of games that are actually pushing the genre instead.

Aside from exploration and a large portion of Oblivion's dialogue.  The Elder Scrolls games are garbage.

Well The Witcher does have one main advantage over TES games. And that is that CDPR actually have competent writers. There are side quests in TW2 that are better written than 99% of the writing in Skyrim. The Witcher 3 also has a character driven main story which is the main draw of the game so if the open world stuff is boring there will be lots of content for you to enjoy along the main quest line (unlike Skyrim with it's pathetic main quest lines) that branches due to your decisions that are far more complex than a silly binary good/evil choice.

And on the whole TW3's world seems a lot more dynamic and interesting than Skyrim's. Just look at this presentation

Something as simple as running into a bunch of random slave trading bandits can have long reaching consiquences according to how you handle things or have handled related things in the past. Now if this simple random encounter has that much branching. Imagine what the actual real quest chains are like. Skyrim looks very shallow in comparison.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Skyrim was amazing. I have never been so into a game.
TES VI will be just as amazing.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

My biggest fear for The Witcher 3, is that it is going to control like a big steaming pile the way the first two did...

This game has so much potential being dynamic and open world.  I love that it blurs the lines between good and evil.  It just feels like adult game; something that's rare in today's landscape.

This.

My biggest fear is that Witcher 3 becomes too much like Skyrim.

It's doubtful The Witcher 3 would suffer from the same blunders of Skyrim. CD Projekt doesn't have a reputation for empty promises, hyping the game to be more than what it actually is. Unlike Skyrim, the world of The Witcher 3 is dripping with life and rich history. With the amount of money CD Projekt earns from gog.com, it's more likely that The Witcher 3 will be polished to a sheen. It's been delayed, a sign that they're taking extra care before they release it onto store shelves.

Agreed, as much as I love the TES games; they are incredibly shallow and the world feels like a canvas for you to hop around on with the traces of previous visits all but gone when you return somewhere. They also have severely lacking AI, weird dialogue and poor writing, not to mention the fact that Bethesda have chosen to make the mechanics more shallow in Skyrim.

Fallout 3 and, to a slightly less extent; Fallout: New Vegas are prime examples of Bethesda's main problem: they cannot build vast worlds with any believeable interaction and 95% of the locations turn out to be exactly the same, with the exact same enemies or populated by two dimensional NPC's with the same voice actors and faces. Side-quests are also stupidly boring and repetetive. Like I said in another thread a few years back; if you keep the same pawns and the same rules and pit the player against a worthless opponent with no mind for strategy, could you honestly say that you have improved the game of chess by making the board several times larger?

I agree. I had the same probably with AC4. I thought i'd love the whole pirating aspects which is fantastic by the way. It's just that I can't get into it for some reason. But I doubt the same will happen with The Witcher 3.
