I'm more worried about the swordplay. I liked the story of the Witcher 2, but the swordplay was completely automated, wich got boring real fast.

Eh? Now The Witcher 2 doesn't have great combat, and it is pretty easilly abused via dodge rolling and Quen. But completly automated? FF XIII has automated combat, Dragin Age: Origins has automated combat, The Witcher 2 does not by any streatch of the imagination. You can't just press one button to win in the Witcher 2, if you could there wouldn't have been so many people calling it too hard, causing the devs to make it easier in a patch.

Its not about difficulty. The attacks are automated. You press the button once and geralt does the rest(goes into auto-attack). Its not visceral at all.

We arent talking about other games here. FFXIII is trash so you wont get any disagreement from me. Dragon Age also had a similar problem, but it still had more action buttons than the Witcher (wich had only 1 if you went into the swordplay tree, with a long coodlwon).

I dunno, i guess i like to push buttons and have new things happen. On witcher it was always the same unless i used a spell or a trap. Dragon Age 2 did solve that problem with the combat, so its not a big problem on the Dragon age series anymore.

That is not really automation they just had overly long attack animations. I usually would dodge cancel out of to avoid damage anyway, but I only ever played on Hard/Dark. Thay have removed them in TW3, now it's one quick action per button press. Combat in TW2 was still far from automated anyway, if you just sat in front of an enemy and just attacked you would die in most fights. TW2 combat is more about avoiding damage than dealing it. Tho that is broken in the base game by Quen and roll spam, both mechanics have also been changed in TW3.

I found the combat in the first game to be a lot more automated; the blazing symbol mechanic for combo and chain attacks paired with the animations made it a lot less immersive than TW 2's system imo.

I've also noticed that they removed the roll from TW 3, but I found that Geralt seems to move incredibly quickly in combat stance; he seems able to skip several meters backwards in less than a second and his strafing is out of this world. Then again; he's not a human so it might be fitting. Overall; I think the combat in The Witcher 3 looks amazing, and the sum of all the mechanics, the size of the world and the seeming life and variety of it all gives me high hopes. This is the first title in a couple of years that has me truly excited, most of my recent favorites has sort of just jumped me out a dark alley (like Mount & Blade, Eador: Masters of the Broken World and Bastion).

That's the obvious explanation for all this He is not a human, he's capable of things impossible for human beings. The fact that he's a universally feared and hated mutant is the staple of the whole world, plot and everything the game and (especially) books revolve around.
