I have the exact same problem. It's steeped in a culture that's both alien and unappealing to me.

No offense to any Americans present, I'm sure you can relate to finding a foreign culture uninvolving.

As an American, the "Old West" is both alien and unappealing to me as well.

Nepal--Uncharted 2. So many amazing moments. Was euphoric playing through it.

Eversong Woods : World of Warcraft

Really, the beautiful but tragic music, the laid back Autumn atmosphere, it feels like an Elven paradise!

Can't think of more right now but will post others!

Treno FF9,  Loved the feel of the city.

You really love RDR, don't you? You're making me want to play it, but I still won't play it, it's too American for me.

Agree with the God Of War trilogy, though I'll extend it to the other three games as well.

i really dont understand why you flat out refuse to play it. you got nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain.

Midkemia in Betrayal at Krondor, Hyrule in Ocarina of Time, Amn in Baldur's Gate I and II, Gaia in FFVII, Ivalice in FFXII, City 17 in Half-Life 2. So many fantastic locations and environments in games!
