Forums - Gaming - Driveclub probably would have scored better if it released before Forza Horizon 2.

Perhaps. And perhaps would've gotten even better reviews :) But it was quite clear that DC would "lose" metawise against FH2. It just has too many flaws. People can of course say they reached what they wanted to achieve but if what they wanted to achieve is lacking objectively then reviews will be wide-spread. Still looks better than FH2, especially with realism in mind regarding shaders and color palette.

Maybe. That way Forza Horizon 2 would have been meta'd in the 90's which it honestly deserv es.

Titanfall and horizon 2 prove that good games are praised well by reviews still. 60/70 is still a fairly good game, just not an amazing game. Driveclub would have reviewed the same I think. After playing it yesterday its handling and invisible walls have alot of problems. I've heard some try and compare it to Pgr. It's nowhete near Pgr. Pgrs handling is completely different and isn't littered with false walls where they aren't needed.

what does destiny prove getting a good few points extra on the xbox metacritic compared to the playstation metacritic? Think it shows it's getting a slightly easier ride.

no not at all. It would be because some of the xbox only reviewers probably rated slightly higher than Sony only reviewers. Meta is just an overall percentage of all reviewers. So a snapshot critic wide of its rough quality across many critic opinions. Nothings changed. And that's it. Theres no bs happening, and no Sony or Microsoft treated harsher crap going on. Last gen sonys games for reviewed well, even if some didn't agree with it. Forza is a series that's consistantly reviewed well. So it was always going to be an upill battle for Sony to beat it in reviews. Turn 10 and playground are top developers with a great review and game record.

Destiny on X1 only has 8 reviews on Metacritic. The PS4 version has 88 reviews. I'm guessing you didn't take take that into consideration.

The PS4 version has opinions of more critics. Nobody believes the X1 version actually two points superior. Both are mediocre.

I disagree. It is what it is, a flawed game but still playable and fun. I just hate it when people start comparing everything that came before it.

Well I'm implying many critics just got done playing a racer that's critically acclaimed, FH2.

Some or many of those same critics then went to Driveclub. Perhaps making that transition may have shaved some points off Driveclub.

However, I'm not implying Driveclub would be perceived as a much better game if it wasn't for FH2. It still sounds like a game with flaws.

Thats kind of how you review things bud. You cant review games as if there are no other videogames on the planet and this is the first game ever of its kind.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I doubt it. Aside from graphics, FH2 seems to be the better overall game.

"Trick shot? The trick is NOT to get shot." - Lucian

It would have scored lower since it would have been closer to the earlier build of the game which had a lot more issues.

Maybe reviewers are readjusting their scales for the new gen :)

I considered critics are being more critical because its a new gen. But that implies recent next gen games don't have serious flaws.

Those same games would be considered average on 7th gen as well.
