Seconded. Nintendo games AREN'T automatically better than others. Oh and Dynasty Warriors games are AWESOME and massively underrated! |
I wasn't saying this. I just meant that HW didn't get any special treatment. It's definitely a Musou title with Zelda flair.
Why tell someone to praise another franchise that people may not like/have not played yet played HW, I don't get the logic from OP at all, all I can see is sourness.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
| GTAexpert said: I think it has everything to do with Hyrule Warriors being a Wii U exclusive. Nintendo fans hyped it up a lot as it had Zelda characters, but it got mediocre reviews. Still I see Nintendo fans praising this game. But since its essentially just another DW game, shouldn't that series be praised by them as well? I guess not because its a PlayStation exclusive. |
Even journalists overrated it. Hyrule Warriors scored a higher metascore than all but three Musou games ever released. Including fanservice titles like Gundam Warriors, etc. Three out of atleast 40-50 different games and let's not forget that Hyrule Warriors lags during co op, has local co op only, and far less content on disc than a lot of the recent Musou games.

Because its actually better than the majority ever released, its lack of game modes like online play are part of why its not quite as good as the best of the best. But all musou games have glitches and frame lag, that's a programming oversight that's plauged these games for years and make some of them downright unplayable (Ken's Rage). There's a damn good reason why some call this the best gateway game for the genre; its not the best there is but its a very good, friendly starting point that can spark interest in an otherwise obtuse genre that has escaped many people's attention. The best games of the series are hard to find amongst the piles of mediocrity, and some are on ancient consoles at this point.
And, second bolded, that's wrong. The game has LESS characters/weapons than the majority but the distinction is much stronger between each class and weapon than usual, and less samey-with-a-different-name. The actual "to do" content of the modes is not lacking in the least relative to other titles or even other titles that have had multiple itterations. Legend Mode in and of itself is short, but the content within the game isn't.
You seem overly distressed over this game's positive reception...

So you weren't questioning whether etking thought it had when through Nintendo quality assurance? I thought you commenting on his belief that that alone would make a huge difference? |
I was questioning. I'm sure if any game goes through an extensive testing feedback with a big publisher, it'll improve. That just isn't the case for HW.

But the game is just another Dynasty Warriors game, so maybe you should praise those games as well. Besides reviews claim otherwise. Agree with the rest |
It's not a traditional Dynasty Warriors game. It actually has no jump. This one has a lot of Zelda esque elements and a lot of fan service. It's all about character familiarity. I wouldn't even be surprised if this sells well enough here that they do a sequel.
I am going to be honest my first experience of the Dynasty Warriors series wasn't a good one I found the games boring, however I fell in love with Hyrule Warriors, I think the games atmosphere and design is what kept me hooked. Heck I am still hooked trying to 100% it.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.
