Damn that is pathetic. These Japanese devs need to grow up and stop confusing games with softcore porn. They should know if guys want that, then guess what? They can get all the porn they want from the internet so why would they want it in a game?! Games like this just cripple gamings credibility.

Looks at avatar.  Of course some works of art contain softcore pornography.  Much of it is in how it is handled.

Wow, calling some pathetic attempt for a company to boost sales "art" is a very low blow to art. The game is just another male Japanese version of "50 shades of Grey" - the devs need to grow up and actually think how to sell a game to a mass and mature market, rather than aim it at a niche group. Bayonetta was the same - it was a game you just felt ashamed to be caught playing as you can not justify the perverted nature of it.

I find that extremely creepy ...

What's even more creepy is if this actually works for drawing in stalkers, predators, and pedophiles. The gaming community ain't exactly all that great as it already is but talk about making it worse by adding in those with an ill sexual orientation ...

Pfft, you were able to around in a bikini in Fatal Frame 2 back in 2003.

This is nothing new. These people need to do their research before throwing a hissy fit.

Yeah, you clearly haven't ever played a Fatal Frame game.

I was not talking about "Fatal Frame". I was talking about "American Psycho". Why I referenced your avatar which is a scene of softcore pornography, yet you seem fine show casing it.  What separates one from the other?  As I stated, in how it is handled and how we preceive it.

On "art", it is very debateable how one defines it.  For exmaple, if it requires redeeming qualities or not or if it needs to appease our sensibilities or not.

How would that change anything? My point still stands - these constumes are infantile and the developers need to grow up.

That scene is part of the story though - and it is a complex and very good story. How is some kinky outfit adding to the gameplay for this game? Oh right - it isn't.

Because it's relevant for nearly all of the content of your post.

Extra outfits are part of the series and you'll never be able to sell a horror game revolving around cameras to the mass market. It's futile.

And I actually skipped over the last part of your post, but you felt ashamed to be caught playing Bayonetta? I guess I'm far less insecure than I thought....

Wow, you avoided any direct answers - how unsurprising.

It is not relevant and you damn well know it. Extra outfits add nothing to the gameplay, graphics, story, challenge etc. It is there for infantile titillation and nothing more. This is exactly the problem I had with Bayonetta as that followed the same notion; women with absurd body proportions, immature breast physics, and the lead character who liked to get naked a lot. Again, it added nothing. But no, it is not because you are more secure than I am, but I find such a game degrading, immature, and anyone with dignity would think twice before playing such a game.
