It's an unacceptable word because people made it that way (and different mods apply that standard differently. It's not an auto-ban for me, though it is a yellow flag to look at context). People figure out where the line is, and then they sit there dangling their legs over the side, long enough that we have to pull the line back. Look at the current controversy over "delusional." It got there because that became a popular putdown for other persons.

But is it really a big deal that someone calls someone a Fanboy or delusional?  These are just words, not an insult on the families honor.

It's all about "context" and how it is used IMO. You can't go to work and call your boss a "delusional fanboy" then use the argument that they are just words.....it's all about how it is used my friend. Not saying you in specifally I am just saying that in a general sense.

Exactly, and none of us are each other's bosses.  We are just forum posters.  It shouldn't be a big deal.

So you got banned. Take it on the chin and move on. Making these threads about posting style changes makes you look like a crybaby and a half...

Around the Network

There's a way to do it while getting your point across.

Think about how your post sounds before you post it.

You don't have to post less or be borring. Just look at it as moding

If you have to change you own personal style then it is not a place worth of your presence.

Never changes your style... be what you are no matter how haters or mods try to say otherwise.

You >>>>>>>>> Websites, mods and bans.

They are losing you... and not you losing them.

Sometimes a person is objectively an asshole though.

Should everyone else suffer because one person has a "special snowflake" complex?

How can a "special snowflake" make others suffer?

Think Hitler. He thought he and many of his followers were special snowflakes. In their delusion they caused the suffering of a great many people.

But you are talking about a guy that did a war vs a guy that just wrote his opinion (or nonsense) on internet...

If anybody come to hit me with a punch I will revide but what a guy that just write things in forum can hurt you? You can just lol and ignore him.

That my personal thinking...

padib said:

That's true, but you can also ignore a person in real life, that logic goes both ways wouldn't you agree?

Yeap... if the guy just come saying bad things to me I ignore him but if the guy start to to do physical agreesions I need to defense me then if there is no way to me ignore I won't stay cool being physically attacked.

I mean I think words can only hurt you if you have feeling with the person  (lover, parents, friends, etc)... now physical agression can hurt you no matter what and you can't left the other person physically attack you... you need to do something.
