Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft not happy with Xbox One sales in Japan

It wont happen. It needs Japan centric games. Yakuza, Persona, dragon quest are only on playstation. So it wont do. Plus home console market are in sharp decline in Japan.

Being realist, even the Wii U and PS4 don't sell in Japan, does it justify for Microsoft to invest in JRPG and stuff, to strive for slightest low sales like PS4/Wii U?

microsoft should stop releasing xbox consoles in japan.
the importan market are usa and europe so they will need work hard to get more sales there. present day japan in the world of the video games is nothing.

They should have either skipped japan or released as little units as possible cause it should have been obviously from the 360 days that japan wasn't gonna bite

Not taking a pop at the OP but this isn't really news to anyone that it sold badly there, if they're going to sell in Japan they really need to shake off the FPS stigma that followed the X360 like a spectre in the last generation. X1 could still do well in Japan I think, they just have to start building the fanbase from the ground up.

They expected bad numbers. But these numbers were worse then they even thought, probably. There's too many more negatives compared to the 360 launch. Really long wait for release. People that wanted the system would be like "Screw this, I'll buy something else.". No Japanese games, MS product hate, the DRM shitstorm, and the kinect meaning nothing to Japan. Since they can't phsyically use it in those small spaces.

That's... not a thing in Japan. Just look at Apples success there...

I still think it's a thing towards MS. Not all all american made things. Should of phrased it better.

They're still above 1k base so what are they complaining about?

Fixed because Dragon Quest is not a playstation exclusive
