I don't think they went into Japan thinking they would accomplish much of anything. Which is why they aren't buying any JRPGs.
Frankly, 600K would be impressive considering Japan is a shrinking console market. All platforms are going to struggle to achieve last gen numbers.

Given my expectation, yeah it would. Especially with no games that really appeal to that market.
Trying to be a serious competitor in Japan would be a waste of resources for MS. Sony doesn't even invest much in that market.

600k would be more than impressive, it would be a miracle. 100k will be tough to reach as sales drop.
