Forums - Gaming - Lets discuss some PS4 sales

Since Bayonetta 2 sales is getting multiple threads on multiple forum websites, lets compare it to some third party PS4 games.

I still don't know why every single Wii U game with low sales deserves its own thread. In reality, PS4 and Xbox One also have some really bad sales that I don't recall being mentioned even once anywhere on the internet.

I understand your point OP.  But you can help by not falling for the trap of calling it "low sales"

Based on your chart, it seems like the sales are normal, if not good.

Actually only Nintendo and Platinum knows if this first two day sales are good, normal or bad, based upon

what they have invested into the title.  And, I assume we still dont know how it sold digitally.

But yeah, its definately modus operandi to downplay Nintendo and anything associated with them by the general gaming media.

Nintendo knows this, thats why the whole Iwata Asks, and Nintendo Direct came about.

Bayonetta 2 is a bigger deal because it is exclusive and has far, far less competition for sales

One big problem with that.... these are all multiplatform games, so you have to add up all of their sales, not just cherrypick them...

I highlighted Yakuza Ishin for a reason. It is a PS3/PS4 exclusive and Bayonetta 2 will sell better than those 2 combined and Yakuza is considered a relatively big francise. Besides that, multiple multiplatform games on Wii U got blamed for their low sales also.

I wouldn't say that with quite so much certainty :p Combined, Inshin is currently sitting at about 400k in Japan (the only place it's out), which is more than the original Bayonetta did across both the PS3/360. 400k is also more than Zelda SS sold in Japan, so i wish B2 all the best on that one :p

Anyway, the reason people point out multi platform sales on the WiiU is they're almost always terrible. The PS4 on the other hand has frequent multiplatform successes, so we know it's the fault of the game and not the console when they sell badly on it (especially since anything that sells badly on the PS4 does on everything else, with exception to stuff like timed exclusives of course). There is a quite good example of that on the front page right now

The obvious difference of course is that not a single title on that list is a proper "major" exclusive.

If it's a title like B2 and it appears to be flopping somewhere, there will be threads about it. There were for PSASB, W101, Puppeteer, even GT6 did.

Pretty much this.

Anything that is hyped (mostly exclusives, but hell even multiplat games like Destiny) will get their own thread if they don't meet the sales expectations or those of critics.

Well Diablo III is a full priced remake which already sold around 15 million copy's, most games on that list are either not that big or remakes so try again. Secondly 360.000 for that remake within a month is not bad since I see the PS4 version alone sell over a million units. I don't see Bayonetta 2 or Hyrule warriors even come close to that number.

Funfact the PS4 has already more software units sold than the WII U.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

To who?  Nintendo?  You really think so?

What foolishness, one was to be a major exclusive the others are half shovel ware multi plats.

How anyone thought bayonetta2 would ever do anything but flop if illogical by any standards.

mario and friends is what sells on nintendo.

The problem with Bayonetta is that Ninty users already have Samus exclusive, adding Bayonetta exclusive to her the result is too much yiffing for them. O-)
