Forums - Nintendo - So reviewers are docking Smash 10 points or more for no reason?

9/10 seems a bit high for a sequel.

I don't understand this line of logic. :O

If I were a reviewer and I had spotty connectivity in an online fighting game - that I couldn't prove was on my own end of the line - I would dock at least 10 out of 100 points for it.

Looks like Super Smash Bros 4 U might have a higher score.

Anyone finding any good reasons for this game to not get a 10 or close to it?

I never liked the controls in the Smash Brother games, it feels off and way too chaotic to have any real strategy (compared to say the Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat titles).

Honestly, I have not tried this one, but if it's like it was before, I'd give it a 6 because the characters are appealing and I know many people are more forgiving of less than stellar controls.

Have you seen the connection issues? Its like a slide show at some points. Definitely deserves less than full marks.

Reviewers who give Smash 3D a 8/10 will give the Wii U version a 9/10 mark my words.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

That seems to be the trend with handheld game ratings vs home consoles.

All I know is the 3DS version graphically looks like shit. And the 3DS controls were not made for Smash.

The Wii U version will rate higher, I'd be willing to bet.

Holy Cow, you have no idea.

Graphically, Smash on the 3DS is a milestone. It is running smoothly at 60fps and looks VERY beautiful.

The controls are chaotic? That doesn't make any sense. They are direction based instead of motion based, so they are pretty much inherently simpler than Street Fighter/Average fighting games. Explain please
