I can't respond to the comments about insecurity because its spot on.

Nah, I just get bored of rants. Be more concise.

The problem isn't price. I know it's hard for some to believe but maybe people just don't want an X1.

So increasing the price would have no impact?

"People just don't want an X1" isn't a solution. MS is making moves to stimulate sales and they have been successful.

There isn't much they can do or willing to do to put X1 sales over PS4. But finding ways to boost sales is still worth doing.

I never said. MS can and should try whatever they can. My point is that price isn't the issue, neither is marketing. It's just that the console itself is undesirable to the mainstream, especially in Europe.

Can they change this? Maybe, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. Pricecuts will obviously help but that's not enough. Hell, I'd wager a more expensive PS4 would still do better since it's currently the "it" console to have.

It's much like the PS3 situation last gen. No matter what Sony did, no matter the amount of quality games they put out, they got manhandled in NA. But where the PS3 has EU and Japan, the X1 has nothing.

And again, that isn't a solution for MS. "Europe doesn't like us, oh well lets give up!" Instead MS will make changes so the X1 is more desireable to Europe.

A small price cut won't have a significant impact, but it can't hurt either. The Fifa bundles will probably do more to move hardware. Hence, that's just one many things MS will do to stimulate sales throughout the life of the console.

It doesn't really matter if X1 is the leader in any region. The 360 wasn't the most popular platform in Europe, but it still moved a ton of units there.

Basically your stance is if you aren't the leader, you're a failure. That simply isn't how business works.

It seems to coincide with the release of FIFA which is bundled with the Xbox One for 329. Its currently the leading console on Amazon UK (Hourly).

Actually the worst route would be if it got dreamcasted after its fails this xmas in wake of a massive PS4 sales.

Its pretty clear to most X1 will never develop a huge audience, its hard to do that when you getiing beat in every market...

Vita and Dreamcast aren't that different. I mean Dreamcast had a longer life in Japan and it seems that's where Vita is still semi relevant.

Actually, PS3 and PSP developed a large audience while getting beat in every market. So lets wait and see what X1 can do. Vita won't develop an audience because Sony basically gave up on it.

In this day and age, with the Internet, ignorance is a choice! And they're still choosing Ignorance! - Dr. Filthy Frank

not surprised by this they did this with 360 at around 2009 the 360 was cheaper than the WiiU in EU that wasnt the case WW though

just not a good sign for a console that drops the price 3 times within the first yr

No, I mean that at the moment, that's their issue. The X1 is seen as an undesirable console, not much unlike the Wii U. Honestly, the only way I see them having any kind of comeback possibilty is if they blow it out of the water next E3. Announce a new, sleeker X1 for $299 with a slew of true exclusives (this is important, they have to fight the perception that all X1 "exclusives" end up elsewhere), as well as a whole new marketing angle (like what Sony did with "It Only Does Everything" and Kevin Butler). If they pull that off, maybe they can bounce back in Europe, maybe. But I still think the brand is pretty much dead, whatever gains they made with the 360 (which they worked hard to get) have been washed away by now.

Now obviously, they don't have to outsell the Ps4 to profitable but hey, this is a site dedicated entirely to sales so that's what I discuss. Whether or not they're profiting is entirely different (though getting outsold 3 to 1 by the PS4 isn't exactly good, tons of lost revenue).
