Two words: 3rd Birthday.

Just because Tabita has shown he is competent doesn't mean this game can't go down horribly. The man was at the helm when one of my favorite franchises sank (Parasite Eve). Even though I don't necessarily blame him for it with all the licensing and writing nightmares PE had with the original novel, I'm still far from trusting.

The gameplay was much better than the second one, and had interesting mechanics for me... (Which isn't saying anything because the 2nd's gameplay is horrid). The story is nonsense ofcourse... I forgot he directed that one so that is a negative mark. I actually like the game even though it shits on everything the first PE was haha.

The first parasite eve is  classic I thought they ruined that series with making the 2nd one like terrible RE clone.

Lol, 50%. Told you guys we had at least another 2 years to go. Probably 3 if it's still only half way there.

As much as you try to sugar coat it, you cant sugar coat the facts. This game has been in development hell for many years. The team does not infer with the FFXIII team so the only game that can have caused a shift of staff is FFXIV:ARR. Regardless, we dont know and regardless there has always been a core team working in the game. Its also not out of the ordinary to think think these people had their work halted waiting for another portion of the project to complete so they can advance. Actually its obvious that that is what must have happened.

What we do know is that this game has been indevelopment for more than 6 years and its 50% complete.

Also, just so you know, its against forum rules to say other members are trolling when you disagree with them. That is flaming.

We do know that the game was announced a long time ago. That its production halted to a crawl because of other games, and because of the hardware's limitations. We also know that they weren't paid to do almost nothing. Try again.

And I'll call the comments for what they are. Thank you.

Well, then we are in disagreement. You will just have to accept that.

Considering this was originally for the PS2, I don't see it happening till at least the next generation.

It was originally for the PS1 not the PS2.

What? That's impossible!

:P

It was originally for the PS3 not the PS2.

In all seriousness it was originally planned for the ps2

Well, hopefully they can have DLC to change that. They need to get that game out first, and if only 1 playable character does that, so be it. As long as he is very well developed.

While it's all assumptions. Your assumptions are closer to being real.

Two years since the new director joined. Two more years until the game is released. That's too many years already

3rd Birthday did do well in the gameplay department and a few of the early bosses have some good Silent Hill atmosphere...but Tabita should have scrapped that script. At least it brought the original onto PSN.

We can agree to disagree on PE2. I liked the gameplay, but it has a really long 10-hour learning curve and suffered from an obvious shoe-string budget. God forbid the bayonet be a useful weapon in a survival-horror game. The story didn't hold up against the first, but then again only the very best games look good compared to Parasite Eve.

Funny that Parasite Eve is so relevant, though; Yoko Shimomura did Parasite Eve's OST, and she's doing FF XV.

Man, you guys saying *insert large number* more years are really clever!

It's been in development for 8 years the project actually started out for the ps2........and now SE say they are only 50% -60% done...... So yeah another 3-4 years I'd say

You really should try reading the OP.

You should lighten up..... People are making a joke about SE because their development times are ridiculous, the fact that this game has been in development for 8 years they should have been finished a long time ago, not announcing 50% -60%.... Even if that means, they will be done as early as new year 2016 that's still ridiculous, or do you think that's acceptable?

Toriyama wrote that. And then did the same basic plot again for XIII-2...

Yeah we can disagree. PE is probably my favorite story in a videogame (with Planescape Torment I think).
