I think Nintendo may have the 2 best selling fighters this gen, with Smash Bros and Pokken Fighters.

They aren't legit fighters. I would call SSB a competitive brawler.

then go buy another

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

Thanks for all the great memories!

Well, lucky for you it's coming to 3DS as well. And earlier, too.

That's like saying that if you like Strategy games you can find something like Starcraft pretty much elsewhere. I don't think enjoyment of genre necessarily equals enjoyment of a certain game.

SSB is a party-brawler. Its designed to be enjoyed through simplicity opposed to traditional fighters (the complexity is created by you not the system). Even the creator said it was created for extremely low barrier of entry so anyone can jump in and enjoy it unlike most fighters which has caused it to become relatively niche these days.

Hence my point.

He may like Smash and not most fighters. Like one might like Starcraft and not necessarily be satiated with any other strategy game in the genre.

PC games of that breed tend to be for a different crowd. Isn't Starcraft one of the most competitive?

Not the smartest choice, I never sell my consoles, I know I'll have seller's remorse.

Well, in my situation, I got my money back so it's fine. I just lost some Wii VC games.

For the record, I do enjoy certain other fighters. I like basically all genres. With that said, Smash Bros is the best

but I sold my Wii U

Really though haven't you considered buying it used? Just buy Smash with the a used Wii U and that such been a little over $300. Plus if your bros and friends want to play? Tell em to buy their OWN controllers.

And also there's nothing in this 2015 Line up you want to get? Mario Maker, Zelda Wii U, Star Fox, Xenoblade X?

I'm just surprised you sold it for PS4. What games are you playing on the PS4 anyways?
