The context, Bungie making this is like Naughty Dog releasing a game multi-plat next gen; PS5 sales would boost even if advertised for XB(Two?). No surprise XB1 Destiny did well.

Don't be so sure, Microsoft has exclusive marketing will mltiple multiplats this year and next such as Assasin's Creed Unity, Dragon Age Inquizition, Call of Duty, and Fiffa 15.

These multiplats are bound to raise X1 hardware, just like madden 15 and Destiny did.

I know a lot of people here seem to think that nobody would buy an X1 for multiplats, but believe me, here in the US people do.

People will go wherever their friends are, and if thier friends are still on the Xbox, then thats where they will go.

The Xbox and PS4 came out in November.  We have enough time and enough software sales to know what people's genearal buying habits are going to be.  Microsoft had exclusive marketing on Madden and it still sold more on the PS4, so will all the games you listed.   People need to realize that in the markets that the PS3 got crushed in (mainly the NA and UK) the PS4's marketshare is no longer 22%.  Will the One get software boosts from upcoming releases, yes, but knowing Microsoft they will come in conjuction with something else, like getting said game for free.

As for your friends comments, sales of the console say otherwise.

It's nowhere near the biggest multiplat. It's the biggest NEW IP multiplat.

Anyone who disagrees that multiplats push XBO isn't worth arguing with. This shouldn't be a controversial opinion or whatever.

You are right, multiplats do help push XB1's as well. I don't know why anyone would think otherwise.

the biggest multiplate since GTA5 was CoD: Ghosts. but Destiny comes after that.

Destiny gave PS4 a whopping 300% boost, far more than XB1, (and that isn't just because it was marketed with it, it would have done it without it).

Nobody (sane) has ever disputed multiplats will give PS4 a better and bigger boost. But as you can see, a game that was marketed with PS4, has given XB1 a a significant sales boost as well.

We can take a look at Madden as well, the ball is in the other court on this one as it's XB1 that got the exclusive marketing. PS4 still outsold the XB1 counterpart, but it still boosted XB1 sales to double in the US.

Game marketed on XB1? Boosts sales
Game marketed on PS4? Boosts sales
Game generally marketed? Boosts sales.

Stop with this unfounded and stupid myth simply because you want it as a bullet point as to how XB1 won't sell well/beat WiiU this holiday.


Assassins Creed: Unity, Call of Duty: AW, Aliens, Grand Theft Auto V, Dragon Age, Far Cry, Project Cars, The Crew, Evil Within, Just Dance, Skylanders and more will shift XB1's this holiday.

Are you arguing with your imaginary friend again? Who are these people who say popular multiplat games won't move Xb ones? At this stage in the generation you could probably predict that for every hundred thousand pre-orders (taking USA as an example) of a game the HW will be boosted by X%. I have no idea what X is, but I bet X is a fairly reliable number regardless of the game.

What can we guess with the UK? According to VGC the week prior to Destiny was 8.6K that means a 300% boost will give ~34K PS4's for the week. Though it depends on what they mean by "boost", it could be 26K if what they mean is triple the previous week's number. If PS4 is 2:1 vs Xb one and PS4 is 34K that means about 17K for Xb one. That's a 200% boost, which is great.
