This doesn't stop you from going online... but, there is a chance that the next time Nintendo updated firmware it could be updated to block Free Loader....

Still, there is nothing illegal about Free Loader, and if they blocked it, I doubt they would do it in a way that would brick the Wii... just block the software.  It's not like it allows for piracy. 

One thing's (almost) for sure - if a firmware update (accidentally or not) causes the Wii to brick when FreeLoader is used, you're out of luck with your warranty, since it's unsupported and unlicensed software.

Didn't Apple do something like that with the iPhone regarding unlocking software?

Huh? I'm not endorsing the product, but it is an alternative to those who might want to play the game and not wait six months. Why is this so upsetting?

I'm pretty sure that Nintendo runs IP blocks across regions. I believe you can't use online even with the correct region device if you live outside that region.

I'm just saying, I'd be worried about Nintendo bricking the Wii.

I don't have a huge problem with this, as a Brawl sale is a sale anywhere...though it certainly won't help Nintendo feel any better about supporting the European market.

I don't think there would be a market for a product like this if Nintendo were to do a better job at releasing their products in a timely manner. The easiest way to put a product like this to rest would be to supply the market with the games people want.

Might be hard to tell how much Europe wants Brawl if half of its sales come from importing from the US.
