4% for PS3? Wow, sad for the only console with free online-gaming... I expected way more on PS3. I think the interest in this console will massively drop even further from now on.

This is news to you? Interest for both last gen consoles has dropped considerably since their successors arrived. Look at the weekly sales if you want proof, been like this for months.

Not in the way that only 4% of the sales of Destiny would be for PS3. I am curious to see WW numbers for the lastgen numbers of Destiny.

I don't think either 360 nor PS3 will reach 100M sales at the end of their life.

And no noone is upset. It is all your imagination :D.

I'm amazed at your level of detailed knowlege on this.

lol.  Hilarious.

Top notch post right here. Please stop derailing, 5 pages of this sheesh.

OT: Nice to see Destiny do so well despite being a new ip. Much bigger then even established ips.

Talking about sales ratios from the chart and possible reasons is derailing?

No, personal attacks and bitterness manifesting itself in being overly defensive at the very notion of the XB1 version doing well is whats derailing.

Nevertheless, I shall leave now and go back to lurking.

Lurk until there is some moderately good xbone news. Sounds like a plan. A bad one since we won't be seeing you around as much as we used to

what about the xb360 excusives?

gears of war judgement (march 2013) and halo4 (november 2012. ofc this sold many units in  early 2013, too)?

the spin goes one...

It's just Gears of war judgment. Versus GOW ascension, TLOU,Beyond, GT6, etc. Not comparable in any way

I also don't see what buying a new game has to do with being happier or less happy. Don't people use the argument the other way around too? "WD PS4 is selling so much because they have nothing else to play". By that logic PS3 users are happier than anyone else. Or does the logic change and Destiny 360 selling means they are happy with it and have lots to play..?

All i'm seeing is pure spin.. Unecessary even, considering all someone had to do in order to take away something positive for the Xbox is to appreciate the 50 50 split of Destiny, rather than going into inaccurate, petty console-war inaccuracies.

so u dont see the drop for ps3 software being 35% while the x360 drop is only 28/29%?

if ur blind, no problem. i tell u, what u have to look at

Or maybe the "drop" happened because last year's numbers were bigger than you'd expect because of all the PS3 exclusives released, specially TLOU.

Not that hard to figure out. It does not work the way you are trying to play it.

halo 4 yes. gears bombed

”The environment where PlayStation wins is best for this industry” (Jack Tretton, 2009)

Destiny sold a huge numbers that mean even if the percentage difference is small ps4 version could sell a lot more then xbox1 version

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Does Destiny sales include the free game with a new XOne?

If not its quite surprising. I´ve seem that 80% of my friends are playing Destiny, but couldn´t tell if that was a WW effect.

That was a US deal but most retailers were giving away Destiny for free with an X1. Game was giving away Halo:MCC too, Amazon £35 Xbox Live voucher + Destiny for the same £349 RRP as the console.

In EU (including UK) both Sony and MS gave Destiny for free
Some XB1 bundles also came with the expansion pass for Destiny, also free. Some PS4 bundles came with 1 month of PS+, also free.

I'm curious to compare regional sales numbers to see what sells more; the flashy new-ness of a white PS4 or better value (EU black ps4 + free Destiny)

It is very interesting that 360 owners are still buying whilst PS3 owners aren't. This clearly indicates that more PS3 owners have jumped to next gen sooner.

Also.

VGC console ratio PS4:XB1 1.5:1

Destiny ratio PS4:XB1 1.27:1

Along with the recent information on total software and the resultant tie ratio's, means that either ONE owners buy far more software or the ONE is undertracked. Probably the former, for now.

Except worldwide the PS3 sells more software than the 360 just about every week. So really what you meant is that 360 owners jumped to next gen sooner, right? Looking at a shooter in a 360 dominated country vs the less popular and less shooter-centric PS3, and extrapolating the results to determine the overall interest of an entire consumer base is pretty terrible logic. You should know better.

Also the fact is that Xbox 360 has a huge fanbase of Bungie while PS3 has none.

Do we have rough numbers for Destiny? I must say I am disappointed there are no numbers with the article, other than the split. I wanted some hint of hardware numbers.

Nice to see kowen's magnificent return.
