Forums - Gaming - Ms doesn't ruin everything it buys

Everyone ms is mentioned about to buy something people tend use rare as an excuse as why it would be bad. Rare was already falling apart when ms bought them. Even then kameo and vita pinata were awesome games. But those didn't sell nearly as well as Kinect sports rivals. If you were a developer wouldn't you want to make games that sold well. So they continued with Kinect sports rivals. Ms  gave then independence to do what they want. Ms didn't ruin bungie. Heck halo was going to be an rts. Look at its success now. Let's calm down with the ms hate.

What's wrong with that?

No, they don't, but they have been showing massive control needs over their developers during the years. It has been both good and bad but I ultimately hope they give more freedom to their studios.

Kinectic Sports rivals sold 200k (by VGC) Viva Pinata sold 1.45mil and Kameo sold 320k. So what's your point, exactly?

MS doesn't ruin the developers it buys. That's EA's job.

Of course they don't ruin everything they buy.

Four years ago they bought an espresso machine for the executive lounge, and it still works perfectly.

You mean EA ruins the developers that MS buys?
Everything suddenly makes sense.

Exactly. EA Access was only the first step.

Well... actually, funny story about that espresso machine.

Oh no, they didn't? Dammit, it was a perfectly solid $250 machine that they bought for $12,500.

The first and second one were a massive success. Obviously they thought this one would be too. However it wasn't and that's he they're trying something new if you were listening to Phil Spencer.
