Forums - Gaming - Destiny Identity Crisis Fix?

I think Bungie played it safe for the most part. Destiny is a good FPS, but nothing more.  I can understand people being disappointed, the hype for the game was unbelievable.

How so? It's had bad previews and the same comments being said for months.

Hype is done because of how successful it was? I think much like hype, the amount of praise it got before release wasn't high at all.

I wouldn't know about previews honestly, I never check them myself, and I can imagine many don't, especially when we are talking about the mainstream audience and the "uneducated" hype. Destiny was clearly the next big thing from the moment it was revealed, no preview would have changed that. That and big advertisement.

I think destiny is extremely disappointing, but anyone saying that it's because of some "identity crisis" is completely missing the point.

If you played the beta and feel incredibly disappointed you're crazy. The only thing the beta didn't show was how long the story was and of course the end game raids. The game is nothing especial is terms of being an instant classic, big levels but almost nothing to do except killing the fallen; story is underdeveloped and a afterthought; multyplayer can incredibly unbalanced; you can only carry 3 weapons at a time and lose ammo when you switch from the menu; long loading times especially when going to the citadel hub; only 3 classes that use the same weapons,; and finally it's really difficult to make a party with randoms....But i enjoy the game nonetheless.

It's only hated on internet gaming forums, which is the same place where gamers are never happy with anything.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

I find the concept intriguing. If it had two player couch co-op I would have checked it out.

From what I've played so far, I am not overly enthusiastic about it... it's a 6/10 so far for me, it just feels empty and a bit soulless. But i'm willing to keep on with it and see what happens. But there are some valid issues with the game, I don't think we can just use the blanket - oh it's bitter fans or something... perhaps they are just not enjoying it as much as they thought they would.

PS - I've never played Halo if that makes any difference.
