Forums - Gaming - Destiny Identity Crisis Fix?

Alright, here's the thing. From what I've read, almost everyone is disappointed with "Destiny". Obviously, with as much hype as "Destiny" had, it was bound to be a slight disappointment, but man, people are really chugging the Hatorade. A big complaint I've seen is that it seems to have an "identity crisis". It's a mix of so many different genres and it didn't really pan out the way people wanted it to. So my question to you is this: is this something that Bungie can fix in a sequel and how can they fix it? Is there a way to redesign the game so that it still feels like it is "Destiny", but it has a whole new feeling to it? Or is it basically stuck the way it is? Last question: how can they improve the online multiplayer matches? Just curious to see if any of you had any ideas!

P.S.: I've only played the beta, but plan on purchasing the game when I get an X1 over the holidays.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

There is no crisis. It is a FPS, like all the others. Anyone expecting more than that was just expecting too much.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I didn't think it was hated that much

Personally, I enjoyed it (but I only played the beta). But from what've I've seen on these forums and around the internet is that the game was A HUGE letdown.

The reason why you only hear disappointed people is that the actual fans are still playing the fucking game and have better to do than share their petty complaints with the world.

I would say the reason the hate is so high is simply because the people who played the game and hated it are the first ones to stop playing and the first ones to voice their opinion. The people who really enjoyed the game have been spending their free time playing rather than talking about how much they love it.

Just a quick example. The User Metacritic score for the ps4 version of the game was initially 3.5. Now that a few days have past and more and more people start taking a break from the game the score has steadily risen to 6.4. Obviously this isn't an amazing score but clearly more people liked it than hated it.

I think the problem is Activision opened their mouth and said 500 million dollars.
When you hear that number you expect Destiny to be the videogame equivalent of the bathroom of a wealthy arab sheik with a toilet seat made of gold.
And the game while good, isn't 500 million dollars mindblowing.

I'm soooooooo glad I spend less time on the internet so I don't realize these kinds of silly things.

This is why you cant take peoples opinions on video game forums seriously. I am freaking loving this game. It definitely has its own identity. Anybody saying differently has not played the game. Seriously, every single person I know that has played this game has freaking loved it. Bungie just need keep doing what they are doing!

Wow! This has been eye opening! Glad to hear some positive opinions about the game. I loved the beta, and again, I plan on getting Destiny when I get an Xbox One in the coming months.
