I wonder if the hardware bump was mostly just SSBB related? Maybe the sales will trend down now to lower and more normal levels.

it's not just SSBB, in fact SSBB wasn't even that big of a jump. Wii fit is a big reason why sales aren't slowing down very fast for the Wii.

Wii Fit and SSBB are the reason for the 4 to 1 sales. Consoles should have dropped back to their normal sales after the holidays but because the Wii has these two huge games out, its numbers haven't seen a return to normal. These sales will continue until the demand for these 2 games are met.

So who wants to bet that by summer it's back up to 5:1 like it was last year?

I'm starting to think that Sony has a ways to go.

I guess we can cross off DMC4 as a big game now. KingofWales confirms this. Sony domination delayed until the "next" big game.

Wasn't DMC4 released in the same week as Brawl and also bundled with PS3's? I consider this to be more than "absolutely nothing".


DMC4 demand was met within one week of release. There are still tons of Japanese people who want SSBB and Wii Fit judging by the weekly sales. PS3 does have nothing over there right now, and it is still the most expensive and biggest console. The Japanese dont like that.
